Had a beautiful pothos that I wanted to make fuller at the top, so I repotted her and took a cutting with 2 inch roots and planted her in here too. I know typically pot size should only be 1-2 inches wider than root ball….my established plant should be fine but is this going to be too big a pot for my new cutting? It’s a 5.5 inch pot
I have made a grave mistake here lol how do I fix this the leggy ones are broccoli I saw they need a head start so I thought they were slow What have I done 🤦🏼♀️
Hi! Ive been trying to propagate these rose stems for months now. I honestly have no idea what I’m doing and probably should’ve done more research. I just cut the bottom of the stems at a 45 degree and put them in water. One of them somehow started growing new leaves, but no roots. What should I do next? I don’t even know if it’s gonna grow roots and I’m not sure what to expect. Please help! I need advice because I really want them to make it, if that’s possible. Thank you!
Monstera propagation- I’ve never done this before so be kind. Is this ready to be potted or do I keep it in the water longer? It’s winter here. It sprouted the second leaf but it’s not opened up yet. I’ve been changing water out every 4-5 days and adding root drops. Those roots look big to me but not what I imagined. I thought they’d be veining.
Hi! Looking for advice on next steps for these cuttings I received from a relative. I have four varieties of African violet, all showing roots now. The pothos at the top are also showing roots. First timer here so any advice welcome, but I am specifically wondering about when to plant and what type of soil to use. Also should I pot each propagation separately?
Since I couldn’t find a group specifically for people with Wandering Jews and I noticed someone on here propagating them I am hoping maybe we could help each other out. I got this wandering you from Lowes in their “ almost dead rack” otherwise known as clearance rack, I brought it home and then I also bought some cuttings of the purple colored one. I have been propagating it in straight water from our zero water filter and it works well. The one thing I have noticed is it seems that the branches are very thin and weak. Anyone know what would cause that? Right now it’s winter here in Northeast PA so I do have a small LED plant light on it and it seems to be helping but I’m not sure it’s big enough to cover the whole plant. I have a bigger ring one on order and will be here by February 2. Any ideas any help and if this isn’t the right group which one should I be in for owners of Wandering Jews. BTW: I was really happy to see this plant referred to as a Wandering Jew as it was its original name. Not sure why they changed it to Wandering Dude. As a Messianic Jew myself, I have no problem with the plant being called that (Wandering Jew) as us Jews have been wandering for a while, so it is a very well named plant.🙂
My first time propagating!! My Jade Pothos has just one very long vine so I decided to go ahead and propagate it, it was very simple and I had fun doing it!! Now I shall wait and see how it goes🙃
I’m not having good luck with my dome prop cups. I have them in a bin, in my office with grow lights. How often do I water, do u just leave them alone? All have either molded or died.

Hi all, I posted a while ago about my guzmania. I was advised to wait for the flower to die before removing the pups, but the pups are getting big and the flower is showing no signs of dying- any advice? Previous post screenshot attached and new pic of the plant and pups also. TIA! 🪴

I just got this plant about a week ago and I want to propagate it to give one to my mom. Is there anywhere I can chop to do that or do I need to wait till mine grows bigger? Also I have it in a potting soil/perlite/orchard bark mix fertilize once a month and have it next to my rain humidifier lamp in a north facing window. Is this suitable for this type of plant?
Is it possible to trim a branch from my coleus and stick it back in the soil to grow? It’s starting to get tall for indoors, and the thought of pruning just to toss parts of the plant makes me sad. I’ve already given away more than a dozen cuttings over the past 4 months.
Here’s some current propagation projects going on at both my parents house & my own! Love seeing roots take after time/patience! Winter doesn’t stop our growth🪴
Gave a baby spider plant to my grandma (she’s a plantie like myself even though she has Multiple Sclerosis) & WOW this is only 6-7 months old and has already given over 12 pups for farmers markets!

Hi guys! I recently propagated some different cuttings of my golden pothos plant in water. I got some roots growing on it (decently long) then moved it to soil. It’s been in soil for about 2 weeks now and all the leaves are turning yellow. Any idea as to why? Is there something I should have done when moving from water to soil? (Photo is from before it started to turn yellow)
I’m so exciting! This is my first time to propagate anything at all. Actually I’m new to being able to actually have plants thrive at all due to this app. Thank you app! I’ve always had a black thumb but thanks to this app and studying the heck out each plant my babies are finally thriving. I have a monstera that I have propagated. I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t root in the water and Take Root after several weeks so I started researching. Found out it needed some root drops so I got those. She’s finally started (huge) rooting! I’m so excited! There’s even a leaf starting! Yay! My first propagation!
I got this amaryllis bulb and was going to plant it but It looks like it has another baby bulb growing out the side? Or are they roots? Do I still plant it upwards in the position shown in the pic? Should I do anything special to the side bulb? Any advice is welcome! Thank you!
