I got this amaryllis bulb and was going to plant it but It looks like it has another baby bulb growing out the side? Or are they roots? Do I still plant it upwards in the position shown in the pic? Should I do anything special to the side bulb? Any advice is welcome! Thank you!

    That is a new bulb coming in. Normally you'd plant it as in the pic, but you can lay it a bit sideways to help put the new shoot a little closer to the surface if you want
