I’m just about done with this Calathea Roseopicta. I bought her last September from a big box store thinking she would be easy to care for. I went on a vacation in March and my husband forgot to water her so she got very dry. She lost most of her leaves. I tried nursing her back to health, but she still wasn’t thriving so last month I repotted her. Now she has only five leaves. I checked the care info and she’s in a great location, she’s on a good watering schedule, and I fertilize her as instructed. I don’t get it. Is this a hard plant to care for?
We love the ✨progress✨
Hey! I'm new to the group, but I'm wondering if anyone can she'd some light on my situation. I have this beautiful silver inch plant "wanda", I basically repropped all her vines last year straight into the soil without starting the vines in water. I was going for a stronger root system. However, The top half of her vines are all loosing their leaves while the bottom half is beautiful and healthy. Does anyone have any advice of knowledge they could share?
My mystery sprout is still growing in my aloe plant! Any guesses on what it could be? 🤔 I would remove it but it seems pretty close to my aloe’s root system and I kinda want to see what it is.
So my Hope Peperomia is under a grow light 8 hours a day. Looks healthy, but would you call this leggy and needs more light?
hello all, everyone is saying that my plants are growing too close together and i really don’t know what to do about that. Any suggestions ?? These are random wildflowers i bought from dollar tree btw.
Guys I posted a few weeks ago about this pain in the butt plant… how I was just going to try save it by misting the roots daily and leaving it free… This little witch with a b is growing a new leaf. I have put in two years of time and money on this plant and now it’s happy just sitting on a tray 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒 I also have a ton of new roots forming. If this crazy plant tries to flower like this I may lose it 🤦🏻♀️
Hi guys this is my aloe plant! Anyone with like the pro can u show me if this has any sickness
What is the best way to get rid of gnats? I bought a gorgeous Tradescantia Nanouk from a woman on fb and after having it I’ve discovered it’s riddled with gnats! Heartbreaking to this new plant person…I have tried Neem oil thus far and the plant is slowly turning brown in some areas, it looks very sick. HELP!
Just a little update on my Turtle Vine plant, Fern! I had him for a year and at first he was thriving but that quickly took a turn as his roots rotted and died out almost completely🥲. After months of rehabilitation and endless propagation he is finally growing beautifully ☺️🙏🏽
Hi! I am new to plant growing. I would really love a taller plant or a plant that I can put on a stand that really doesn’t need much light and good for beginners. I already have a pothos, but would love to try another plant. Any recommendations?
Where’s your go-to place to buy plants? Is there an online store you trust?
Good Morning Everyone!☀️ This is a question about this app. I’m a newbie here. Can anyone tell me how to edit my individual plant information. Thanks!
Does anyone have any experience with pebble trays? Thoughts? I just got a baby monstera and blushing philodendron and I’m in AZ
my newest additions 🤓🪴🌈🌱
I just want to see your top 3 plants. That’s all. Also tell me a story why you got em. Or you think it’s cool and you just bought it that works too ☘️🌱🌵
Hey y’all! Meet Gojo! A Sansevieria trifasciata “Ghost” 👻 Dare i say he is my favorite out of my snake plant collection 🫢 🥰 these pictures don’t do him justice!
Okay, this is gonna be really long. But I need help. I was gifted this birds of paradise about 4-5 years ago and it used to be so happy for a long time. It was putting out tons of new leaves and was gorgeous. Mind you, I had zero clue about plants I just got it as a gift and it loved my brightly lit apartment. Fast forward years later and we moved to a house where it wasn’t growing. I assumed it needed a larger pot (I did zero googling, I didn’t know it was more complicated than that) so I repotted it and of course it got worse. I started researching and learned it was the placement that was hurting it originally because it wasn’t getting enough light, and now it was also in too big a pot. I eventually repotted to smaller pot but my friend accidentally pulled it apart and so the roots while “helping” me so they are much smaller now and I know that gave it some trauma (I don’t want to talk about it 😞). I did trim the sad leaves off to hopefully encourage it to give energy to the remaining 3 leaves. She now has been in ICU with a grow light for 1.5 months or so now, but no real progress. She Hasn’t gotten worse and did appear to perk up a bit but no new growth. As I learn more about plants and potting, Im thinking the soil is too compact (just regular potting soil) and maybe pot is still too big. I did recently stake it with moss pole and that seems to help, but now the dang thing has fungus gnats. It’s my fault I let it sit above a drain pan full of water. Im definitely learning by screwing up and dealing with the consequences. I’m 🤏 close to putting it on curb but I really love it and want it to come back. I have put the cinnamon in it and moved it away from other plants. Also ordered some stuff to treat it. I’m scared to do the hydrogen peroxide treatment since the soil is still damp from watering last week. IM SO OVER THIS BIRD. Can anybody advise on what the best course of action should be? I feel like it needs to be repotted in a smaller, taller pot with much airier soil but I don’t want to traumatize it anymore. Also I don’t know if you’re supposed to repot when it has gnats. The internet is so back and forth, I really want human opinions! Photos are of it the past 3-4 weeks and last photo is of it today. I don’t have the heart to show you what she did look like 😭. Thanks for any help in advance.
Ok. Let’s assume for a moment that there was a half-dead twisted lipstick plant at my Lowe’s on clearance. And let’s assume that as a relatively new plant parent, I was unsure of my ability to bring it back to life. Would anyone have any words of wisdom if I were to hypothetically go back and get it tomorrow? Edited to say - I have about 35 plants, half are orchids that I’ve had for years. The other half are houseplants I’ve picked up over the last 3 months. Nothing has died… yet
