i was repotting my ZZ plant when i noticed this weird pink thing. What is it?????
I just got a whale fin plant in the mail. Iâm excited to have another sansevieria, as I have a couple of snake plants. I know when a snake plant shoot gets a brown tip, the shoot with the brown doesnât continue to grow. It focuses on growth elsewhere. Is that the case with a whale fin too?
My philodendron developed these black and yellow patches almost overnight. Any ideas what it is and what I should do to treat it? I watered it three days ago and misted the leaves today.
Hey all- my majesty palm has been giving me grief since I brought her home (a common experience, Iâve discoveredđ). I moved her about 6 ft away from my window because at first all of her leaves were crisping and turning brown/ yellow. She perked up a bit, but still wasnât doing great. Then I reported her almost 2 weeks ago into a much larger pot with a humidity tray and humidifier, because I was reading they need really high humidity. But now one of her crowns seems to be growing a fungus/ starting to crown rot. AHG not sure what to do. I havenât watered her for almost 10 days but she still feels damp. Any advice is welcome đđ»đ
Iâm just coming here to complain so maybe someone can commiserate with me- It has been a very damp, dark spring. My plants had a great pop of growth and so I kept watering them as scheduled. Unfortunately because of the humidity and lack of sun, theyâre all now way too overwatered. The soil is retaining too much moisture (despite having well draining soil that accounts for humid air). The plants that donât like direct sunlight are experiencing moldly soil (Iâm using cinnamon to combat), and or rot of some kind. I just find myself constantly playing plant Tetris to dry soil out, or give them the light they deserve. Thank goodness the grow lights are coming tomorrow!! đ±đ«§
Hi I am absolutely terrible with plants - I kill them all. Maybe itâs the way I look at them or something Anyway, my pansy has survived for around a week so far but today it has decided to wilt and Iâm not sure what Iâve done wrong. My husband said itâs my fault for calling her Felicity - it was just too optimistic of a name Dr Plant says it needs to rest but Iâm not so sure. I feel like not doing anything is the way Iâm going to kill her. Sheâs at front of my house partly sunny partly shade depending on time of day (my house faces south) and I live in Manchester so I wouldnât have thought lack of water would be the issue. Can anyone help?
i saw tiny brown bugs crawling in the soil of my orchid and now i see this white stuff. any idea? are these spider mites? what should i do?
My monstera adansonii has these crispy brown spots on one of its leaves that are spreading. Can anyone help? Iâm really trying to keep this baby alive đ„ș
I have this calathea that pretty much died on me. I trimmed back all the dead leaves, started watering with tap water I leave out overnight, and heâs placed right next to a humidifier. He looks a lot healthier but his leaves are still turning crispy. He is not in direct light at all so I donât know what else to try
Hello! I have this elephant bush that Iâve recently saved from the compost pile but itâs occupying every seat on the struggle bus. is it worth saving at this point? I feel like it needs to be repotted because it doesnât have drainage but Iâm afraid of shocking it out of its last breath
Hi Everyone! Beginner plant parent here. I need help diagnosing whatâs wrong with my tea rose. Yellowing/spotted leaves with holesâŠany suggestions? Is something eating the leaves? Thank you!
One of my silver inch plants is in a clear pot and I noticed the soil is looking green. Is it safe? The plant itself seems to be growing pretty well and I water it every three days (itâs outside and I check the soil with a chopstick).
I just potted these couple weeks ago and itâs kinda lookin sad, anyone know what I can do
Looking for advice. I rescued a spider plant from my office kitchen as it looked super sad (see pic in the white/grey pot). I brought it home and repotted (see pic in green pot). I used all new soil that I mixed myself but when I took it out of the grey pot to place in the green pot it had no roots at all. I havenât watered since putting it in the new pot as I had just watered it at work the same day I brought it home. Should I put her in a smaller pot given she has no roots?? Help.
leaves are starting to turn yellow and go bad. itâs a wandering jew and it grew all the roots in water then i moved it to soil
I keep getting a white fungus on the soil of a couple o plants. I tried the natural remedies and it works for a while. I donât want to throw my plant away Itâs not a pest problem. I tried vinegar and baking soda and peroxide and even cinnamon. Help!!! I donât overwater my plants and I use distilled water on my plants. Itâs only affecting two of my plants
I was gifted this new baby today đ„čđ however I feel like it may have powdery mildew? I sprayed the spots with a baking soda mixture that I read up on, wondering if there was anything else I could possibly do, or if maybe somebody thought it was something else. I read somewhere else that said to cut the infected leaves, but itâd break my heart to do that, so I want that as my last option đ„ș
spots like this appeared on older leaves, thought it was sunburn but leaves not near the sun ,,, help please !
Hi!! This is my first time dealing with fungus gnats (Iâm assuming thatâs what it is), and Iâve tried everything from sprays to a homemade mixture of sugar, soap and vinegar to get them gone! They seem to only be in these two plants (a pothos and what will be wildflowers, if it grows), but they just wonât go away! I think itâs the eggs that keep them going, cuz the spray kills the adults. Any ideas or recommendations or tricks to get rid of them are greatly appreciated!! Theyâve been going on for about a month and a half, and the pothos came from Walmart outside, so Iâm assuming thatâs where they came from.
Sprayed my birdâs nest fern with neem oil. I have done this many times before but somehow this go around there was too much neem oil in my solution. My poor baby ended up getting burned. Is there any way I can save her or is this the end? Any tips will be appreciated.
