Hi I am absolutely terrible with plants - I kill them all. Maybe it’s the way I look at them or something Anyway, my pansy has survived for around a week so far but today it has decided to wilt and I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong. My husband said it’s my fault for calling her Felicity - it was just too optimistic of a name Dr Plant says it needs to rest but I’m not so sure. I feel like not doing anything is the way I’m going to kill her. She’s at front of my house partly sunny partly shade depending on time of day (my house faces south) and I live in Manchester so I wouldn’t have thought lack of water would be the issue. Can anyone help?

Pansies thrive in full sun and a lot of water. Does your pot have drainage? Can you put her in a sunnier spot and water her when the soil gets a tiny bit dry? They like moist soil but it has to drain.

The basket has holes but I think there is a plastic layer underneath. Should I have removed that? The front of the house gets the sun all morning

Pull the plastic out so it’s not drowning in its roots. Try to find the sunniest spot and see if that helps!
