So I noticed that my beautiful orchid had one of its biggest leaves dying. So after narrowing down what it could be I checked the roots and found root rot. So I trimmed away all the mushy roots. In the picture is what is left. My question is 1. Does it look like anymore roots need to be trimmed (some of them have black tips and 1 big one is like damaged but still looks really alive(edit:you can see it in the second pic, has that big brown spot that’s ate through half the root but the brown spot is hardened over)? 2 should I prune the left of leave it on?

My aunt gave me her orchid thats in bad condition. any advice? She kept it in a shady area and never really watered it. there was a flower but it had fallen off. edit, i forgot to mention i repotted it as well, when i got it for some reason it wasnt even in the soil and the previous soil was moldy.

I bought this orchid in June on discount, it finished its bloom cycle. It started to bloom again before the bloom cycle was over.
The orchid has a leaf turning yellow. It’s about to bloom.
I gently reported the orchid. The roots look great.
My concern is that it did not sprout another leaf before this one turns yellow. Is this normal for leaf’s to fall off before another one grows?
Using a ceramic pot with better drainage do you have to water a lot more?

Is this mold?! 😳 Everything else looks healthy. If it is mold, what should I do? I kinda want to transfer her to water instead of leca. 🤔 Is it too moist of an environment the way I have it now? She’s under grow lights for about 8 hours a day.

This is my orchid, I transferred her to water a couple of months ago and she put on another stem. I am so proud!

Hi. My boyfriend got me this moth orchid today but he accidentally broke the stem, right on a node. How can I fix this for the orchid not to die? The plant is over 10 feet away from a window. It was watered one hour before the incident.

I rescued this orchid the other day at Lowe’s from the clearance section. Since I brought it home it has lost 2 flowers. I’ve watered it and put it in a indirect sunny place. About 3 feet from my window. Will the flowers come back? Is there anything I can do to get her to perk back up?

i’m new to orchids, but absolutely love them! my phalaenopsis had 3 stems and they have all eventually turned brown therefore i’ve cut them down. i have a few other orchids, and i haven’t had to do this with any of them. is this completely normal? like everything dies down eventually right???
