Is this mold?! 😳 Everything else looks healthy. If it is mold, what should I do? I kinda want to transfer her to water instead of leca. 🤔 Is it too moist of an environment the way I have it now? She’s under grow lights for about 8 hours a day.
Unfortunately I have no experience with growing phals in water so no real basis for comparison. However, it looks like mold and way too wet to me. My experience with orchids is they like to dry out between waterings. If you use leca, I would assume you would want to let the roots dry out between soakings. Water seems pretty popular these days so you might try checking on YouTube for culture tips.

Mix 90% water with 10% isotropal alcohol. Put in a spray bottle and lightly spray the tops of mold surface. Also try adding mycorrhizal fungi to your roots of plants in semi hydroponics.

0개 좋아요 The alcohol will take care of it, however, if you haven’t flushed your leca/plant in a long while you may want to do so. Closed container fine for a while, but eventually the leca starts to have a salt build up which can start to harm your plant. So you might want to take out, flush throughly, do the spray thing, then put back. Depends how long its been since leca flush.
