I’ve been growing some a bunch of different tissue culture alocasias for the last couple of months. Some of the first new leafs are coming in so much larger than what I started out with and can’t wait for these plantlets to grow 😊

Hello! I rescued this beauty from good old Walmart 2 weeks ago. She was in pretty bad shape. Leaves curled and all. I do have a new leaf as you can see. So yay!! Dhe was bone dry. I re potted her and gave her a good water. My question is should I cut off these curled leaves for her to thrive or leave them? Im obsessed with the beauty of this Ninja girl!

When I first started out, gathering a few plants in my home, not knowing that I would create a jungle of peace and tranquility! I had a silver dragon, and I killed it not once but twice, two different plants! I declared after that I would never get a silver dragon again! yesterday at Home Depot- this little guy called to me. I am now over 100 plants deep and I think I’m at the point where I might be able to keep this little guy alive. lol I feel like this is a test somehow. lol

I’m new to Alocasias, I’ve never had this happen to one of my plants since being a more seasoned plant parent. I’m stumped on why these yellowing spots are happening. repotted from nursery pot 2 months ago✅ Well draining soil✅ Humidity tray✅ Is having new growth✅ Occasionally mistings✅ Pot isn’t too big✅ I’m guessing it’s humidity bc I live in a dry state. Anyone know why this happens with Alocasias? Writing this I’m realizing I think I fertilize it twice already, on accident while fertilizing other plants, could this be for over fertilizing?

I won a mystery corm on a Whatnot app auction. The corm is already in a corm cup, and it has been doing great with one exception. It looks like the roots and the plant are all coming from the one end. The other end of the corm isn’t growing anything at all. This really IS a mystery. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And if so, what do I do about it? Anything?

my var. frydek is popping out this super white baby leaf!! i’m gonna see how long it lasts, i’ll cut it if i have to but very reluctantly 😭 so pretty!

My alocasia polly has a bud coming out of a flower stem I cut off. Is this a leaf or another flower? This plant was a rescue and already dropped one leaf and flowered, which I cut off. If it's a flower, would love some advice. It has a humidifier. I think it may do better in the summer when we stop getting these temperature fluxuations. My house does get down to 65 F.

Just got this variegated Frydek less than a month ago, and the first leaf it gave me is all white with the tiniest speck of green. 😆 To cut or not cut? That is the question.

🌿 Feeling accomplished today! Alocasia and I have always had a complicated relationship — I’ve lost that battle more times than I can count.
