Iām having trouble with my pitcher plant. It lost its pitchers quite a while ago and I canāt seem to get them back. Is it the pot, the environment ā¦ā¦
Hello, I wanted to ask what everybody's experience was with humidity levels. Do Venus fly traps do all right in 30 to 40% humidity? What about mid to high land pitcher plants?
Look at this little one slowly come back to life :ā) So beautifulā¤ļø
My boyfriend just got this Venus fly trap. I donāt know much about it, I know most people prefer to do tray watering but I have a question. Can he do tray watering and leave it there for how long? Iāve heard people leaving it for months and ānothing happens to itā but idk..? Or is he kind of supposed to do tray watering like a ānormal plantā could he let it absorb water and once it has absorbed Can he just remove it from the tray and do tray watering again 1-2 days later? Someone help! Heās really excited. Another thing, he wanted it because his room tends to have mosquitoes so he wants the plant to eat the mosquitosš. Could it be possible he can treat it as an inside plant? I know he could but the watering would be different as well. Can someone just explain, thank you!!
Recently moved all of my plants across the state. My Trumpet Pitcher exploded with growth. It upgraded its pot size and itās now flourishing in a Boske self watering container (coincidentally, the pod itself was defective, and has been helpful in allowing the plant to sit in the distilled water. Every day thereās been growth it seems. Very grateful for a successful transition AND repotting! Will be ready for dormancy next year.
Cute little guy is finally happy after shipping and acclimation stress :) Pinguicula x Weser
How do I prepare my new Venus Flytrap for dormancy? And then care for it throughout dormancy? I want to give it the best chance of surviving.
I just got a Butterworts plant, it seems to be doing well! Itās caught tons of flies already, but Iād like some tips/advice on how to give it the proper care. I mist it a few times a week and Iām getting some grow lights too! Anything helps. Thank you!
I just got a Venus flytrap today, my partner had a question. Are we supposed to feed our flytrap bugs manually, or just let him eat bugs on his own?
Baby Pitcher on my Nepenthes
Hey question my pitcher plant has one pitcher that is completely brown after feeding it. Is this something to be concerned about?
Venus flytraps from Feb still alive. Caring for more by changing water pan and leaving lid off terrarium and feeding dying beetles from parking lot on top of flies.
Question about dormancy. So I saw that you should skip dormancy if the plant is weak or a baby. My plant was almost dead from the place I got it and has just started to grow new leafs and traps and I donāt want to wreck that. Should I skip dormancy and just let it have a light dormancy, should I have a late dormancy, or should I just put it in dormancy regardless? Thanks
shouldn't have bought this from trader joe's, but she's so pretty and the price was sooo right. hopefully she's not doomed šš»
Howdy! I just got a Venus fly trap, and Iām very excited about it! Although Iām a bit nervous because my last one didnāt go so well⦠but Iām optimistic about this one! It does have some black traps/closed ones. Do I cut those off or am I supposed to leave them? Am I supposed to repot it/does anyone have soil recommendations?
Ok, hereās the info I found. You need to soak the worms for about 10 minutes and then use tweezers to place them on the leaves. As soon as it gets cold outside the flies vanish! So I am hoping this will keep them fed until next spring.
fridge time for petey, prayers for a good dormancyšš¼ and shoutout to my planta helper!!
Do Nepenthes x ventrata go dormant indoors on a grow light? Mine seems to be growing a ton of new pitchers. I water lightly every day and it gets probably 4-6 hours of full sun. It seems to like this and doesnāt seem to be going dormant like people say they do.
