I just got a Venus flytrap today, my partner had a question. Are we supposed to feed our flytrap bugs manually, or just let him eat bugs on his own?

I never feed mine and they’re thriving inside!

How do you deal with VFT dormancy inside? Just curious.

Last year i had tried to put other ones into dormancy and they died. I’m unsure if I’m going to try with these ones. They’re very healthy and thriving and i have a grow light to supply them with plenty of light. We will see what happens. I have a sundew and a pitcher plant too that are the same way.

It’s pretty optional to feed them from what I’ve heard, it’s fine if they don’t. They still thrive without the extras!

i'm no expert but from what the guy who sold me my fly trap said was that they don't actually need to eat. they can preform photosynthesis like any other plant as long as they have light and moist moss to grow in. (I bought carnivores plant food cubes anyway)
