What is this yellow thing at the end of my Fittonia’s leaf? It feels crinkly, should I cut it off?
I went to water my air plant and this happened!!!!!! I know it’s extremely under watered, I was extremely busy and forgot to water it. I assume it’s dead? (First picture is after it broke not before)
My ficus green island has been dropping leaves like crazy the last 3 weeks and the leaves aren't even browning at all before they drop. I only have like a few leaves left from when I first got it and it's trying to sprout new leaves but some of the sprouting stubs have browned and just died before even becoming leaves. I don't know what to do at this point because every day it's just a check-in to see if all the leaves have fallen off already. I know it's not a watering issue cause I follow instructions pretty closely for this and basically use my probe on it frequently to make sure it's perfect. I have it under a grow light for 12h a day and it doesn't rereceive any direct sunlight at all. Please if anyone has any clue on how to save my ficus I'm all ears!
Just general advice, when should i be repotting my plants. I think the roots are starting to come out of the bottom of their pots and I wanna make sure Im doing this right.
I got in an order of plants, so I thought I'd post some pics of how they were packaged, since there was the post on how to ship plants safely. These are all 3-4" pots, and folded paper towel was put to cover the drainage holes, a damp paper towel was tucked all around the soil medium, then saran wrap tapped down over the towel to keep it in place and keep iin humidity. (You can just do a paper tape too). Then polyfil is placed around the leaves, and the plant is rolled in paper and taped up. Then taped down into the shipping box to avoid shifting and crushing. This was shipped next day, so no heat pak, but usually it'd be wrapped in paper and taped to the top of the box or o. The opposite side, you don't want it to close to the plants.
Any reason my pilea bottom leaves would be drooping so much? I recently repotted him as his soil was staying moist for too long. He was doing well after the repot but now seems to be drooping again 🥲 added second picture from before for reference.
does anyone know what is happening to my plant please?
Good morning planties! I was curious and wanted to make a Friday poll to see where everyone falls on the plant parent spectrum! 🪴🌱💚 So, are you more of a helicopter plant parent, watering your plants more than they might need? 🚁 Or, are you a hands off plant parent and when you think about watering them, you give them an extra few days because “they can make it” lol? 🌵 Comment down below or use either emoji 😊
I am going to try to plant a dandelion in a pot Ang grow it from seed does anyone have any experience/ recommendations on how to grow it and keep it alive
So last May I bought a 1” pot with a China doll seedling. There were 6 teeny plants and only one has survived. It is growing well but since this is the first time I have had one I’m not sure if everything is alright. My grandfather had a rather large one that was really full so that is what I am used to seeing but it was a mature tree. This one keeps sending out new branches from the main stem on the top but every time they get super leggy. Just recently it has started pushing growth from the main branch at the bottom of the plant and “filling it” but it just seems a very odd way to grow. I have it on a table under a grow light in my kitchen it gets a small amount of filtered sunlight from a window with a covered porch outside but the light is on about 18 hours a day. Does anyone have experience with these plants? It gets regular watering and fertilizer and misting. Am I doing something wrong or is this how they normally grow?
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong with this orchid? I'm new to plant and orchid care. It's in bright indirect light all day and I water it according to the Planta schedule. It's still in the individual plastic cups with drainage. Everyday day the yellowing gets a little worse and I think it's starting on other leaves too.
I dropped my pride and joy today (dang you wrist surgery). I’m heartbroken but I guess now I can sell the cuttings. 😭
Hi what is this plant? planta identifies it as a jade
My Maranta Leuconeura has looked perpetually uncomfortable but is somehow still thriving (growing new leaves). I don't get her deal. Can anyone with some experience tell me if this is normal and she's doing okay?
I turned my prop box into a mini greenhouse. The props seem to like it, they are rooting well. I added a heating seed starter mat underneath, the T5 light bar I bought cord extensions off Amazon so I had more reach.
I moved to a new area about 6 months ago and I dropped my huge peperomia and I saved a little. I ended up propagating it and got some beautiful roots. I potted it in July and it’s barely grown and now it just doesn’t look happy anymore. Any advice? I’ve grown two new leaves which is promising but she could use some advice to stay alive. The blue pot is a picture I took today and the dog pot was in July. Same nursery pot I planted in them in when I planted them from cuttings.
So I posted about this a while back and promised I’d give an update. About a month ago I took these two rubber plants that were in the same pot and repotted them separately hoping the one on the right would benefit a little. Well, the left one is really taking off but the right one still hasn’t performed. Why won’t it give me a new leaf? It’s looked like that for about 6 months already …
New plant lets are growing amazingly! (Tiny one was the second to sprout idk why it has no progress btw I planted 3 seeds)
I need to leave my plants, and will be putting them in groups where I can use a larger plant light. Does anybody have experience with these LBW grow lights? Any other recommendations? TIA.…🤗💚🪴
Hi plant friends! I could use some encouragement this morning. This week I discovered two formerly thriving plants have spider mites - my string of pearls is one of them 😭 I’m so sad because she was doing so well. One of my African violets is struggling, and I just saw that my Hoya compacta has wrinkled leaves and dropped some. I’m treating them and trying not to panic, so I’m not looking for advice there. But this is bringing up the old stories like I kill plants, I don’t know what I’m doing, I don’t deserve plants. So I’d be grateful if y’all would share how you overcome plant challenges and allllll the feelings. Sharing a pic of the gorgeous new leaf on my billietiae to encourage myself 😂
