In the last two years, I have become very interested in plants and plant care. It’s been such a great hobby for me! My plants this summer seemed to be thriving generally and doing amazing and I thought “great! I’m finally getting the hang of this“….. And now this week my bird‘s nest fern that I’ve had forever decided to unalive itself, my alocasia has spider mites, a philodendron that I’ve been nursing back to health finally kicked the bucket and now I feel like one of my Monstera’s is being temperamental🙄 I guess the one bonus is I now have room for a few new plants! Such is the life of a plant parent! I guess this too shall pass!

Got this little guy. Can anyone tell me what kind of begonia it is? And any tips on caring for it?

My spider plant that I put in the kitchen (due to my cats trying to eat it lol) with a VERY long macrame hanger. Today I decided to put my sun-catchers that I made awhile ago, around the rim of the hanger. I think it was a nice touch. I also put my favorite in the top middle.

Hi Plant peeps! I'm after a bit of advice please 🙏 I've had this Vriesea Splendens / Bromeliad / Flaming Sword for just over a year now. The flower has long been and gone and I know it won't grow another. However, this pup has been growing from the middle of the mother plant for about a year now and is now bigger than the main plant, everything I have read says the mother plant will naturally die leaving the pup to be repotted and that will eventually flower itself. As you can see the mother plant is showing no signs of going anywhere anytime soon. Do I just carrying on waiting or do I attempt to remove the pup which doesn't look like it'll be easy? Would the pup flower one day if still attached to the Mum? Any advice on what to do please would be much appreciated. If I were to remove the pup, how on earth do I go about it? Thank you.

Hiiii! 😁 I am new to the game. I recently got this gorgeous Dumb Cane & I’m looking for tricks to help her thrive! I recently repotted her. She gets a lot of indirect sunlight during the day and occasional reflection from a grow light.

I have about 25 of these Japanese pencil hollies and recently about 4 of them have started to die turn brown like pic attached. The rest seem to be fine. Any ideas suggestions what could be causing this and how to correct?? They have been planted for just over 2 years. Thank you in advance, Jody.

Hey guys 🗣️ So this is my „Ruby“ rubber tree.. it had foul roots from too much water; I cut it at the right length, put it in water, it regrew beautiful roots to replant it - then it didn‘t like the soil and water either - replanted it in something drier and now it looks like this.. I‘m in shambles and do not for the life of me know what to do next 😭 Planta says to replant it in a pot with soil, but is this really the way to go? The roots look okayish. I‘m on the fence to just put it in a water culture again, hoping the roots heal and the next try potting it will work. Please be nice, I‘d appreciate any tips or motivational pushes. 🤠

Does anyone know why the leaves on my parrot plant have “rolled up”? I received the plug plant 3 weeks ago now and there is lots of new growth but the original leaves have curled over and don’t look like they will be returning to normal. Is this due to stress? Included a picture from when it first arrived and now

I had a few leaves come off my zz plant. I put them in perlite and they grew roots. I potted them and Planta calls them Hoyas but they’re not. How do I change it so I get the right info?

My Dieffenbachia is currently flowering, and getting it to bloom indoors especially with two flowers at once is practically unheard of. It's super rare to see this happen in a home environment!

A few of my plants are thriving on my porch, but I’m afraid of leaving them out when it’s too cold! When is everyone bringing in their pothos and prayer plants? For reference I’m in the PNW. Weather has been warm-ish throughout the day (65-75 degrees) and cool in the mornings / at night (48-65 degrees).

What’s the first plant you checked on this morning, and why? 😍

I had a new plant parent breakthrough today! I brought home a Manjula (his name is Creamy) yesterday and tried bottom watering today as the soil felt really dry and the pot felt light. After an hour the soil hadn’t watered evenly and the pot was still very light so I decided to check the roots and look what I found! I decided to repot and size up. Still new to the plant world so I’m proud of myself for checking the roots!
