I think my calathea have surpassed my peperomias to become my favorite plants. The leaves are so pretty. What type of plant is your favorite?

I’m looking to repot my Monstera Constellation, does anyone have a good mix recipe for it? Im also wondering, I suspect she has Thripes, I sprayed her down and she’s under a grow light now away from other plants. Can anyone confirm my suspicions? Leaves keep browning and this new leaf still hasn’t unfurled and it’s been months.

Hi all ❤️ I just got my first Alocasia Frydek Variegated (it’s so difficult to find it in Ireland but I was look for paying €10 in this cut) and I'm so excited! It has been growing in a mix of Fluval stratum and perlite, and so far it seems happy — but I’ve noticed some green moss or algae starting to grow on the substrate. Is that normal or should I be worried? Also wondering: 🧐 When’s a good time to check the roots in this mix? I want to make sure it’s healthy but don’t want to stress the plant. Any tips or advice from folks who’ve grown this beauty in semi-hydro or Fluval setups would be amazing! 🙏🏼 Thanks in advance 💚

Anyone else constantly check their plants drainage holes for roots trying to poke out so you can pop them back in before they’re too long? I know my plants aren’t root bound because most of them have clear pots, yet I still catch the roots sticking out the bottom 🤣 stay in your pot!!

Our poor rubber plant is continuing to decline and I don't know what to do! She was over watered a few months back, but we repotted her and have been making sure she gets plenty of light and dries out between watering, but the leaves continue to brown and shrivel. Is the stem supposed to turn brown like this? Should I consider just cutting the healthy part off the top and trying to propogate it?

I recently got some ornamental chili peppers and was wondering when the right time to put them into soil is. Tips on how to grow them will be helpful too. And why does one of them have a hole in the side?

Hi!! A novice plant mama here. Just bought / repotted this monstera about 4 days ago. The woman at the garden center said it was only on the clearance rack bv I needed to be repotted and was otherwise healthy (score!) It came with this patch on one leaf - hasn’t grown or transferred to any other leaves since I got it. Ive had it in the shade since but transferred it to a west facing window today to get a bit of sun today. My instinct was to prune it off but wanted to check to make sure it isn’t sun damage or a humidity issue. TIA!

I am thinking of getting a Satin Pothos for my office that is in desperate need of some personality. There is no window, just overhead fluorescent lights, so was wondering if anyone could give me some advice… I was thinking of getting a simple LED plant light to go with it. Thoughts/advice?

Question about the fertilizer task reminders in the app. I am assuming these get tacked onto a regular watering task? For example, if one of my plants gets watered every week, every 4th week I would get *only* a liquid fertilizer reminder, not a watering reminder?

I got this fiddle leaf fig a week ago and have been slowly trying to acclimate it to be outdoors on my east facing balcony. I’ve been putting it out in the shade for like 1 - 3 hours every morning at sunrise, but it’s still been getting scorch marks on the leaves. Anybody have any tips for continuing to adjust it to outdoors while still preventing the sunburn??

I knew this Agleonema Silver Bay needed repoting, but Amazon is holding my potting soil mix ins hostage....aka, they are out for delivery. I realized today that the initial plant(s) were in those little baskets when I saw them peeking out the top of the soil. Of course now I have to really see....and took it all apart. Look at those roots!!!! In debate if I want to pot up or cut the roots back and keep it at the current size. Any thoughts?

My youngest two kids were doing their usual fighting/pushing and this happened. I kept my cool but sent them upstairs so I could pick them up and clean but I’m bawling now. I’ve had my spider from my other son for two years and the burgundy rubber I saved and it was starting to com back. Now everything is ruined!! Can I fix them?

So a few weeks ago I repotted a couple plants - a snow queen pothos here and a variegated Alocasia frydek - into self watering pots. In both, but mostly in my pothos, the roots grew so fast and down into the water through the drainage holes. But they’re also showing so much new growth since I did this. Is it okay if I leave them like this for awhile? I just worry about root rot!

For my next plant (still a beginner plant mom), which one is the next best - Hoya, English ivy, or a snake plant? Thank you 🥰

Anyone else live further north and find your plants actually grow more in the winter than summer?? I find in the summer the sun is so high in the sky it doesn’t come as far in my house and if I move my plants closer to the windows they burn pretty quickly. It seems like in the winter when the sun is lower in the sky my plants are always putting out new growth. Anyone else find this??
