I was surprised to see a bud in my Chinese evergreen. I didn’t know they bloomed. I read in several places that you should cut the blooms off because the plant will put all its energy into the flower. Is this true? Does anyone have experience with this?

I’m a little afraid of my Hoya šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø I’ve had it hanging in a south facing window but it’s so cold I moved it today. Has anyone had success using a grow light with them?

(Left picture is old and plant seems to be doing better). Ok so i’ve struggled with identifying this plant for a long time. At first I assumed it was an Aloe or Haworthia and settled on Aloe, but after looking through other types of Aloe now I think it might be a an Aloe Tiki(which I had never heard of). Any thoughts??

When I got my goldfish plant she was in okay shape but def had some overwatering issues. After a couple weeks of quarantine I repotted her in better soil and she almost died on me. Shes starting to recover and I’m so freaking excited! This plant has been on my wishlist for so long and they are incredibly hard to get ahold of anywhere near my area so I had to special order her from my fav plant shop a few hours from my home. Her name is Sashimi. 😁

Hi all! I am starting to get a bit of a white build up from watering my plants with tap water. Does anyone know if using brita filtered water would resolve this or if I have to get distilled water from the store? I just have a bunch of plants and would like to avoid buying a bunch of gallons of distilled water in possible. Thank you!

Does anyone have any tips for growing banana trees? I’m in zone 8a due to the ā€œcoldā€ winters, but from April to November the temps are around 70-100 degrees with high humidity. I’ve heard that banana trees can withstand being frozen back in the winter, but come back the next year. Is it realistic to get bananas from them or will they not have enough time to produce? The only time temperatures drop below freezing is from late December to early February.

I have not watered or done anything with my plants for a few days now. I’ve been planning to give everyone a Neem Drench and the next day use a bug fogger (big gnat problem). So, my question is, there is not a setting for a drench, do I just log it for a watering?

I am wondering when to repot most of my plants. Is there a general rule of thumb for when to repot your average house Plants?

Has anyone got any recommendations of hanging plants that don’t mind shade? I have a north facing room but would love some hanging plants. I’m thinking maybe some Photos but also not sure what variety?

I have several plants whose leaf tips easily turn brown. I’m wondering if a self watering pot will help with this problem. Can anyone recommend a favorite self watering pot? I am looking for a pot that is about 6 inches in diameter. TIAā€¦šŸ¤—šŸ’ššŸŖ“

I got this peace lily sensation from steins garden center today and it looked rough so I toke it home and repotted it and it was root bound and it had some root rot so I cut the rot off and I did remove a lot of healthy roots to stimulate root growth ( about 1/3 not sure if this was the best idea) and the pot was 1 inch bigger but the soil had a hard time filling in the gaps in the new pot so I had to really push and punch the pot to get it to fall in, I’m just worried it’s going to go into shock now. What do you think?

Hi guys. I have a kalanchoe mamorta that I got from a friend. When I got it, it was in a giant terracotta pot right next to a window. I hate how terracotta looks so I put in plastic and right in a window. It was doing fine and I watered it, and all the sudden its leaves turned yellow, thinned out, because flexible and some started dropping. I repotted it in a smaller pot thinking it would prevent over watering and added rocks for drainage. I haven’t watered it in weeks and it’s still declining. Please help!
