Hiii I still haven’t figured this little one out. Repotting her I realized she has a bulb. Also her leaves are hairy/fuzzy kinda like lambs ear. Any new ideas? Normally has a pink flower!

Is it even possible to be in love with a plant?! I just love this little polka dot begonia! Her new leases are coming in nicely and one of them has a bit of a pink underside which I think means she’s happy. The one thing is I’m concerned that she’s putting out all of her leaves on one side. Is it OK to rotate it so that she fills out a little bit more?

i want confirmation that these are cystoliths on my new rex begonia vine (cissus discolor) leaves. the white spots are pieces of plastic that somehow got on the one leaf! They’re only on new leaves on my cutting and my mother plant.

Been adding to my gardens almost every weekend! Two more additions! Free annual from Lowe’s rewards (sunstanding neon rose impatiens) and I couldn’t leave without getting it a friend ( gerber daisy)

Hi everyone! I have noticed recently that with the warmer weather, stupid bugs are starting to come around again. You can’t see any in this picture, I just added it for fun since this is one of my favorite plants I own, but does anyone know how to get rid of little gnats and stuff being in my plants and the dirt they are in? I was going to just spray everything down with really strong bug spray, but I read online that bug spray can kill plants. I am willing to try anything once! TIA!!

I have a south facing balcony and I’m looking for any plant suggestions that would thrive in direct sunlight for long periods. (the second picture I included was taken at 10am for reference and there is now furniture lol this pic is from september) Also any tips / things to know about outdoor plants, I’ve only had indoor plants so far! :)

Good morning all🙂, So, fungus gnats... I have a dragon plant infested with them! I have the mosquito bits, but I am considering repotting because I don't think the soil is one that is chunky enough. It takes forever to dry out. My question is with this type of plant, is it OK to completely wash all the existing soil off the roots to repot in some fresh soil? TIA.😁

I’m gonna need someone to hold my hand when I say this… I have no idea what I’m doing… I just listen to the app🫣 but I’m trying very hard to become more knowledgeable about plants and taking care of them and I’m trying my best😌

Is there any way to have an avocado tree grow outdoors in the Northern USA in a large pot, like using burlap or a large greenhouse? It gets down to -10°F some winters.

Alongside our series on plant myths, we're also launching a new series featuring our employees’ favorite plants. First up is Anton: "This is one of my favorite plants in my collection. It’s an unusual epiphytic plant native to the Atlantic forests of Brazil and doesn’t have an English common name. Its scientific name is Nematanthus fissus, originally collected in Boracéia. I’ve had it for a couple of years now, and it means a lot to me since it's slow growing and I received it as a very small cutting from a dear friend. I grow many blooming houseplants, but for me, the plants I grow don’t always have to be showy to be special. I love this plant because it came from a friend, and it’s a species that isn’t too commonly cultivated. It has really oddly shaped blooms, like tiny, shining red whales scattered on the branches throughout most of the year in my growing conditions. I grow my plant in a southeast-facing window in a hanging pot. Although rare and slow growing, it’s a fairly easy-to-grow species belonging to the same genus as the more common clog plant / goldfish plant (Nematanthus gregarius)."

A friend has asked me to help divide and repot this beast. Not sure the best way to do this without breaking it. Any suggestions? Thanks for ant help.

My chayote squash that I grew from a seed outside of the fruit. I read it should be very difficult to grow successfully outside the fruit, is that weird.
