I have a south facing balcony and I’m looking for any plant suggestions that would thrive in direct sunlight for long periods. (the second picture I included was taken at 10am for reference and there is now furniture lol this pic is from september) Also any tips / things to know about outdoor plants, I’ve only had indoor plants so far! :)

Are you wanting to grow edible or ornamental plants? Or both? For edible you could do cucumber or tiny melons (kajari are delicious). Peppers and tomatoes would do well and there are patio versions of tomato plants.

If you want ornamental I would try succulents! We also used some of this I honestly do not know the name 😣😣😣 it looks amazing and grows a lot we have had this for YEARS ! Jade plants are also very hardy and beautiful as well

carnivorous plants (exept maybe pings and some sundews) also love lots of light! if you go with these guys, make sure to do research, theyre pretty different from regular house plants :) sarracenia northwest is a great resource!

Coleus love the sun, these get a lot of harsh sun and they love it. It actually makes their colors more vibrant. Plus they grow fast, I’m impatient and like to see progress 😂 they come in pinks and purples too!
