My autumn flame has such a hard time during the winter (warm but rainy here) 😭 This is the second time I've had to cut her down to the soil. She lives outside, on a covered window ledge. It rained nonstop last week, and the strong winds that were going on must have blown a lot of rain past the overhang. By the weekend she had this funky fungus (?) going on. I think next year I'll bring her indoors for the season šŸ˜” Hope to see her thriving again soon...

Good lord, I never knew begonia’s were sooooo temperamental! Granted this is my first one and I got spoiled with amazing pothos’ but still lol. Like I was doing it a FAVOR by repotting it out of non breathable soggy soil into a better mix for its species and then it goes and yellows some leaves and gets all these crunchy spots. Even with its own PERSONAL humidifier right next to it, bathing it in rainforest mist. I mean if I treated myself like this plant, I’d be a thriving queen. Okay, lol, rant over. But like did anyone ever have this temperamental of begonias while they’re acclimating? Photo of what this princess looked like before it threw a fit, I’m hoping to have a comeback story for this one to share later lol.

Does anyone know what’s in this or know how it works? These are ice packs used to deliver my medicine, which must stay refrigerated. I get that nitrogen promotes leaf growth, so conceptually I get it…but not really. I’ve used it on outside plants and it seemed to make no difference šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø. Thoughts on inside plants??

I am repotting my plants on the south facing front porch. I live in SW FL My fiddle fig has roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. I got this or at Target and it has an attached tray for water, but I want to change it to one I can water till it runs out of the bottom and when finished put it back on the porch in a drip tray. Do I need to go up in diameter or height of the planter? TIA!

This is my sisterā€˜s birds nest fern, and she sent me some photos and said ā€œHELP!ā€ She also said this one leaf was normal when it popped out, and she thinks something is eating it. I told her to get a magnifying glass and flashlight, but she’s not seeing anything, at this point. She’s not a plant person, and really wants her birds nest fern to get better. I don’t have any magic, but maybe some of you out there can tell her what is wrong with her plant? TIA!

What is wrong with my Croton? I haven’t noticed these red spots before, and wondered if it might be edema? I was told that Crotons like to be well watered, but I have never watered it before, unless it showed normal on my moisture meter. TIA!

Hey guys! I’m looking for a plant suggestion right now. I’m looking for something I can start growing now for spring from seeds but I don’t what I should start with because this is my first year trying. I am also looking for a house plant which doesn’t need much sunlight. If you guys could give suggestions please do!

Hello everyone. I’m new to plants so any recommendations anyone can give me i’d be happy to take! I bought this plant about a week ago and it was doing very well. I watered it once (the day it was bought) and i haven’t again since i’ve read they need a water about every 15 days… so i’ve been worried to water again and overwater it. As i’m so new to being a plant mom i’m unsure of what the problem would be and i’d be interested to hear feedback from you. :)

Hey all learning question! I repotted my philo billie because I noticed that there were roots on top of the soil and the top roots were drying out before the bottom roots. So we repotted from 8ā€ to 10ā€ I just want someone to look at this root system and tell me if this looks okay? I have read root trot is brown and these are kind of brown but not mushy, some of them are fuzzy as well! Thanks all for educating me

So I walk in the exam room at the doctor’s office and I see this spider plant. I notice all the pups and rush over to it. I was going to ask my doc if I could have one or two. šŸ¤“ I got close and um, it’s a fake!! I laughed so hard at my own disappointment! I’m not for fake plants but kudos to the creator for making it so legit that it has pups. 🤣

So, I just repotted these three. They were clippings in a porcelain pot that I believe was making it sick and only had one drainage hole. I do not over water her at all because I know these Swiss cheese ones don’t want a bunch. How do I help her from here?? She’s in a 6in pot which idk if it’s the right size but it has long roots. Thanks in advance!

Help me please! This is my syngonium. I just got it a few weeks ago and it seemed to be doing fine. The other day it was due for watering and after watering it wilted. Yesterday it was perking up again but this morning I found it like this. What should I do?? Should I remove that main piece and can I put it in water to root? It looks like it just broke off.

Since it's the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese calendar, we have been discussing which plant looks the most like a snake, and we have three finalists: (A) Euphorbia caput-medusae (B) Sansevieria trifasciata (C) Kleinia stapeliiformis Which one is the most snake-looking, A, B or C?

Basic question .... in the plant app it asks you to put in size of plant. I assume this relates to reporting and water amount etc but it doesn't say HOW to measure them. Height? Width?

I’ve seen recently that some people have crotons as indoor plants. I’ve only had them as outdoor plants here in Florida at my previous home. I think they are so pretty and wondered if anyone here had them as indoor plants for a pop of color and, if so, any special care tips? I’m going to read up on them, of course, but wanted some real life opinions from those that have them indoors. TIA

Help!!! So I just recently got a Alocasia ā€˜Silver Dragon’ and I noticed today she started drooping.🄲 Just yesterday she was all perky and excited to be here and now she look like the second pic. When I did get her she did not have any critters or bugs in or on her. I do have cats and she was chewed on a little bit but not enough to kill her. I made sure she was put up higher so that she was out of reach for them. helppp please. 😢

Azalea question. I have read online from various sources that state it’s ā€œnormalā€ for the flower blooms of azaleas to turn brown and then hold a green leave for a bit before recycling back to beautiful blooms. Other sources are saying I’m not watering enough, or my soil isn’t acidic enough, etc. What’s the truth on these? I have done everything recommended for this plant and if it’s me, I don’t know what I’m doing or not doing to help this poor thing out. Or, is it just normal?
