My avocado tree is 24 years old and over 22 feet tall. Can someone tell me what are these spots in the tree trunk? I donât want it to die!

UPDATE: I took it out of its pot, rinsed pretty much all the dirt off and rinsed the leaves. Stuck it in water. It will stay in the water till Tuesday when my tropical plant soil comes in. Hopefully that will help with the drainage. Any tips?
I really need help ASAP if anyone has premium can they please diagnose the plant from these pictures and comment the problem? I have done everything that the app says and itâs been holding on for almost 10 years but I went away for 5 days and came back to this and I have no idea what happened please help Iâm repotting this back to a small pot and Iâm emotionally attached to this plant because Iâve had it since I was 8
Can anyone please tell me what these caved areas might be on my aloe plant? Iâm hoping itâs not pests đ
Iâm not sure what Iâm doing wrong, and the planta diagnosis is not helpful (Iâm 85% sure Iâm not under-watering). Itâs my purple-heart spiderwort (tradescantia pallida). Itâs flowering, so itâs obviously happy, but the leaves at the top/nearest the pot are all browning. What am I doing wrong?
Ewwww. About 3 weeks ago my peperomia needed to be repotted so I rinsed off the roots, made it really really nice and put it in a bigger pot with some kind of low quality soil and now there are these little flies everywhere all over it. What do I do? The only soil I have available now is tropical soil. Would that work? Iâm not overwatering.âčïž
I have this one for just a week and its leaves are getting yellow very quickly Any advice on what to do, please? I am a newbie
OK, what am I doing wrong here? This is my second pink princess philodendron, I got them both from Meijer and the soil they were in was like kinetic sand. It was so spongy & waterlogged my first one, which after about 2 weeks I ended up re-potting in a chunky soil mix, but it was already too late for her. The soil they came in, literally was still saturated a week after I watered it. The pot had adequate drainage holes and I only watered it one time, but the roots were already so rotted and I just couldnât save her. So this is my second pink princess philodendron - from Meijer again. I added photos, there was already some mold on it when I bought it because it just holds water. So needless to say, she wasnt in the most healthy condition when I brought her home, but definitely not too far gone! This time, I repotted it as soon as I brought it home- which I usually wait two weeks, but I wasnât going to risk it drowning again in that soil. I have used a soil mix with coco husk, perlite, clay balls, I think some bark in there too. I also put it in a smaller pot, as recommended by somebody on here. Maybe the pot is still too big, but Iâve noticed some of the leaves browning and getting a little floppy too, I donât know if itâs in shock, or itâs just that one leaf, or really whatâs going on here⊠So what am I doing wrong? This one is such a beautiful variegate, I want to save it by ANY means necessary. Granted, It wasnât in the most healthy state when I first brought it home, but after repotting, I havenât seen the improvements I thought I would by now. Iâve wanted a pink princess for so so so long, and maybe itâs just that Iâm getting them from Meijer, but as I said, I want to save it by any means necessary. Is the pot still too big? Is the soil not chunky enough? Is it not getting enough light? (In a north facing window rn, i have grow lights but havenât used them) Or, should I just cut my losses now and try to propagate whatâs there? Any and all suggestions / comments are welcome and much appreciated!!
Jade plant going crazy â thereâs tons of sprouts but some are going sideways and thereâs a lot of little roots trying to grow from the middle of the plant. Do I need to trim parts? Thoughts??
Hi all, I bought this plant and the tag said âmini bonsaiâ I bought specific bonsai rock soil and put in a well drained pot as requested for bonsai plants. Itâs literally been dropping leaves constantly or browning edges. I tried to read up on what I need to do for it but no matter what I try, it keeps getting worse. Itâs in a well lit area, no direct sunlight that could cause burning. The only thing I can think of is that Iâm somehow messing up the watering schedule? Can anyone help? TIA
For yellowing leaves Epson Salt you can but the 10 dollar 7lb bag in the gardening section of Walmart or just buy there brand 7 dollars for a 8lb bag
hey guys! so Iâve had this succulent (pictured below â not sure of the exact type) for two or so months now, and sheâs been super happy. I left home last Sunday, having watered her that day and left her in a well-lit room, and came back this afternoon (following Saturday) to find her like this. one of the leaves fell right off when i gently touched it. iâm so confused as to whatâs gone wrong â any ideas, and anything about how I fix it? i have a cat but he couldnât have gotten into the room, there are some plants nearby (a foot or so away?) but all of them are completely healthy. i recently havenât had any kind of ceramic tray to place under her like i usually would so sheâs been on paper towel â could that be an issue? as you can probably tell, Iâm just very confused and desperate for any advice anyone can give. please let me know if you have any idea whatâs going on, or if you have specific questions that might help to narrow it down!! thank you so much!! pictures attached of the plant afterwards, I couldnât find a photo of how it looked previously, but the leaves were a brighter green and much fuller. I also just noticed some small black flies gathering around the pot.
Eeeeeek 𫣠ok I did it I cut my Monstera because it was so laggy and looked terrible. The aerial roots are so long. Do I put them inside the jar as well or should I cut them down a bit before placing them into water? Also if I just leave the little cut branches in the soil , do you think that theyâll grow new leaves ???
This post is part of my other post that I couldnât take as many pictures as Iâd like so I made another post. My Monstera that I overwatered two weeks ago is very leggy probably because of where sheâs put in the winter time as I live in Saskatchewan Canada, weâre doing renovations and so I have to put her in a different part of the house during the winter where she gets some sun, but not as much as she would like. Iâve seen videos where they chop it down and start again ? Iâm not sure if I should do that or even how or just leave it alone but hereâs a picture and maybe someone can help me, give me advice because Iâm in need of all the help I can get. It might not be the right time to do this since summerâs half over as well. What do you guys think? Unless maybe itâs supposed to be like that and Iâm just overthinking. But the bottom part of the biggest stem that holds the biggest leaf is thinner closer to the potting soil then it is up where the leaves are. I usually have it taped with planters tape to the pole. I just untaped it to show you.
Alocasia silver dragon Is she saveable ?!:(
I was given this plant for my birthday in April from my son and I think I overwatered it. Iâm 100,000% sure that I overwatered it but itâs with this other plant who seems to be doing fine and the other plant also died. Do I repot this little aloe? Do I keep it in the same kind of mix? I only have normal potting soil but I could take some from the pot you see here ? I guess I would have to repot both plants cause you canât just leave this other plants in a big pot like this, please help Iâm not sure what I should do. I was told to just leave it alone so I have. But itâs getting worse.
I just got two Dottie rose painted calatheas in the mail. Both look very healthy. I examined them and don't see any kind of sign of pests, other than one leaf from both plants seems to have some perfectly sized holes all the way across the leaf. I rinsed the plants, checked the roots and the soil, and treated with the Sexy Plant Spray. I'm just wondering if I need to be concerned about these holes. Is it a pest issue or something else?
My M. Adonasii also has something up with this leaf yellowing/browning, esp older growth. I think itâs dry, warm air causing it. Considering increasing the water frequency, also changing to a terra cotta pot along with a soil amendment just around the root ball, not disturbing the roots much. Is the terra cotta going in the wrong direction? Any thoughts?
guys what should i do with this leaf on my elephant ear plant itâs drooping & bent i feel so bad, should i cut it & propagate it ?
HELP! I got this Jade plant from my friend and her house was around 65 degrees. It has not liked my house(around 75degrees) and was about 3x as voluminous when I first got it. Since then it has been dropping good leaves and yellowing ones. Iâve given it different amounts of light moving it around my house too. Please help! Heâs dyingggg!! đđ what should I do??
