So pleased with flowers despite the winter.
My ZZ plant is growing slowly but surely. I truly love this plant because it’s easy to take care of (as long as you don’t overwater it because of the plant’s rhizomes). Thinking it about repotting it eventually.
Token pictures of the Winter mess. The 2x2 cage closest on the right is for rehab; the old rehab was the bedroom window until my recent adventures in mealy bugs demanded more argh. ps A couple of these sucs spent all summer 2023 under supermarket fluorescent lights, which was enlightening (no pun). I finally realized my place has some similar lighting - though LED.
My new baby…
This is quarantine row. New plants hang out here after getting sprayed down with insecticide, and systemic insecticide added to soil. Typically two weeks minimum secluded from the rest. Peep the greenhouse in the second pic. I CANNOT wait to fill it this spring.
Just found this photo…March 2021 vs January 2024!

Finally getting the hand of this Calathea haha. It has been through A LOT. I have it for around a year or even a bit more, in the beginning when I didn’t know better, I used tao water, I let it dry, it had spider mites at one point, it lost all the leaves one time and regrew from zero… This plant is a survivor 😂 Now I keep the moisture up by misting it every other day, I water with filtered water, and fertilize it regularly with the regular miracle gro for indoor plants, and I also put it closer to the light source. The older leaves still have some crispy tips, but overall it’s finally looking happy and shooting new leaves again. 🩷

Saw these at the flower shop on Saturday, and in a day or so decided I had to go back and get one. Glad I went yesterday, because it’s going to snow all day today! ❄️🌨️☃️
