My ZZ plant is growing slowly but surely. I truly love this plant because it’s easy to take care of (as long as you don’t overwater it because of the plant’s rhizomes). Thinking it about repotting it eventually.

Yes 🙌 I always recommend ZZs for people who have trouble remembering to water or want a hands-off plant. I don’t recommend them to people who are water-happy though 😂 I have a raven and a chameleon variety (and technically a regular but my parents are test-driving it currently to decide if they want to keep it hehe). Mine only puts out new shoots once a year 🤪 It’s not super exciting, but it’s still a lovely plant. I think they charge up their energy in the rhizomes all year to spend it all on a big growth spurt. Each round of growth has almost tripled in size compared to the previous stalks

Zz’s actually like to be rootbound! Mine has been in the same pot for 2 years and it’s continuously shoots out new growth even right now in the winter!
2 likesGood to know they prefer being root bound. Thanks! I’ll keep it in this pot then.
