My husband bought me this orchid about 6 months ago. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, but not sure what I need to do. Appreciate some advice.

New blooms!
New blooms ā¼ļø Iām so excited to share that after one year, my orchid has flowers again. I had posted about it in this group, asking for advice on how to revive my flowerless orchid that had dead roots. This group has been amazing, gave me tips on how to bring her back. Seeing the Before and After pictures gives me so much joy! š¤©
Hi all. I have a dendrobium hawaiian royal thatās been losing leaves to what I assume from reading is phyllosticta. Iāve cut off leaves with any spots and have been spraying and soaking with physan 20. Based on these pics, does it look like Iām taking the right actions for the right pathogen? TIA!
I recently rescued this orchid from root rot, trimming off the bad roots and repotting it into new potting mix (but the same size pot, since so many of the roots needed cutting) But now the leaves are yellowing and falling offā¦did I do something wrong? Should I have used more bark than spagnum for repotting? I lifted off the top layer and the roots themselves look fine, so Iām wondering if maybe I repotted it too tightlyā¦thanks for any help!
My DIY orchid basement grow rack featuring three silent fans, two timed barrina t8s per rack and auto-adjusted humidity. For orchids out of bloom.
Saved this orchid 3 yrs ago at a plant shop sidewalk sale and this is the first ever flower sprout. Excited to see what the flower looks like!
this is so embarrassing but iām SO DESPERATE PLEASE HELP ME. I have a gut feeling these are far passed any reviving, but is there any slight chance of saving these orchids I have? š¢š¢ EDIT FOR BACKGROUND: Iāve had these plants for about 8 months, and a few months back I started to let them go⦠but now I have time to focus on them! I was great with the care - it was easy and low maintenance, and I could usually get flowers back on them, but theyāve never gotten this bad!
Hi all. I have a large phal with what I suspect is stem rot. I trimmed the dead roots, cleaned with hydrogen peroxide, applied cinnamon to the blackish areas and repotted in bark and sphagnum making sure the base of the stem is not covered. Is there anything more to do? Is she heading for the big orchidarium in the sky? Any insight appreciated. TIA!
Itās the day after Valentineās Day! Now Is the time to stay laser beam focused on any orchids from cvs, Walgreens, etc for orchids. Give it about a week and these stores will be tossing them because the blooms are going to fall off and the staff will think that they are dead and no good. If you ask nicely they will give the to you for a discount (or free!) Donāt try to take them all, they will say no. Instead go from store to store and collect. 2024 I got around 8 phalaenopsis orchids for about $2.00 in total! Good luck!
I was moving plants rotating them and adjusting the lighting and noticed that I completely missed that I have a second flower spike on my orchid.
Soooooo⦠DEAD OR ALIVE? I got this beauty a few months ago and she isnāt doing too good. I forget what type of orchid she is but she has fine roots. She had reddish and yellow flowers. I love her. Please help me save her. I didnāt water her enough and I donāt think her current pot is ventilated enough. I will do anything to help her! ššš if she is able to be saved please tell me how!!! Also if you can tell what kind she is please do tell me. Edit: I remember I wanted to get a oncidium sharry baby but the ones they had were too expensive. So it is either of the ones in the screen shots I put in the comments.
Found this article on how to get orchids to bloom thought it was interesting. They said that they need cooler temperatures to stimulate spike growth and flowering, idk if anyone has heard of that?
Hi all. Iāve noticed some very tiny black dots that form a mottled pattern on the pseudobulbs of my oncostele wildcat āyellow king.ā Thereās also wrinkling. Iām not sure if this is new but does anyone have any insight? TIA!
Help experts! I was gifted this orchid last spring and it stayed healthy for a long time. I did quite a bit of reading about them but it kinda went in and out of my brain with some outside stressors. We almost threw this little baby out but I just couldnāt! Tonight I was in my kitchen and noticed these buds!! Help me figure out what to do next to help bring āFallonā back to her natural beauty!
Looking for opinions:) Iām so excited I have my first flower spike! Itās growing towards the window⦠***Should I turn the pot around so the flower spike has more room to grow away from the window? ***Or will that stun/shock the plant and stop the flower spike from growing?
Hi everyone! Could anyone give me the run down on orchid care? I just got my first one and have not the first clue what to do with it! Any help Iād love you for, thank you all!
Wanted to show yall a red orchid w yellow outlines! She's beautiful! I named her Scarlet :)
Embarrassing but I need help identifying this plant. Plant apps have said sheās a cymbidium but I got her from someone at a show whose English was not so great who said she is a paphiopedilum. I went to repot her and her roots look nothing like my other paphs so Iām confused. Any help is welcome as I want to care for but not sure what she is!
I got this plant a year ago August and itās just had its second set of blooms!! (It was in bloom when I got it) Should I cut the stalk after the blooms die? Thanks!
