HELP!!! i was going to repot this new orchid (phalaenopsis “red cat”)and put her into much better, airy soil, but i took her out of the sphagnum moss she was in and her roots look terrible!! is there any way i can salvage her or is she a goner…? she has two normal sized green leaves that are slightly flappy and wrinkly, and one new leaf that hasn’t stopped growing, so obviously she’s got some green on her. what do i do?? any suggestions?

I think it might be time to call it on this phalaenopsis. It bloomed for a year straight, and I think I should have stopped it earlier, but now it’s been dying for a year straight, I’ve taken loving care of it and it puts out new leaves but I just can’t seem to truly make it happy.
Friends my Oncidium twinkle is partially blooming and I’m not sure why this is happening. Last year all the bloom spikes bloomed at the same time but this year some of the spikes are blooming and some are still developing. Has this happened to anyone else?

I have no idea what to do with this. I got this orchid from a family member who moved. According to her, it’s a just add ice orchid? I know nothing about orchids or how to take care of them. It has two flowers that look dead but just haven’t fallen off. I don’t even know where to begin with this: watering, fertilizing, all of that. Are the things sticking out of the bottoms roots? Any help would be appreciated! I’m very confused.
Hi! I just got two healthy looking orchids on discount yesterday, but the bigger one I have found 2 mealy bugs :( I found one yesterday evening while just wiping the leaves with a microfiber cloth to remove dust (it was hidden in a leaf crevice so i couldnt see it at the nursery), and then sprayed both orchids with ready-to-use neem oil. Found a second one on the same orchid today which I spot-removed with a qtip soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Smaller orchid seems to have zero mealy bugs. I have both peppermint and unscented dr. Bronners castille soap around, and the affected orchid is isolated. Would still love any and all tips to get rid of mealy bugs that are orchid specific!! I am not a new orchid owner, just new to mealy bugs, and this affected orchid is getting ready to bloom so i’d love to get rid of them :)

Sometimes in life, you have to start over, but you may need a little help to get there. My little orchid friend here lost all his roots (oops, my bad) and finally has some new ones budding. I'm letting him get a nice long drink before I put him back in a dome for humidity. With a little love and time, he should recover. (This is also the best bargain orchid I've ever found. Mottled leaves and he was only $3 in a clearance shelf)
Hello! Super super plant noob over here crying because I desperately want to keep my orchid alive. Two weeks ago, it lost its last bloom and I repotted it out of the moss and into orchid bark into this aerated pot. I probably over trimmed the roots but I was worried that there would be too many dead roots if I didn’t. Well, I’ve been watering it but the roots look so dry (this photo was taken today. I soaked it in water for thirty minutes last night). I don’t know if it under watered, overwatered, or just transplant shock. Any and all advice/tips would be greatly helpful!!
Hello! I’m a newbie so please be gentle 😂. Always been obsessed with orchids. 100% my fav flower. Finally took the plunge and decided to buy one and try to keep it alive and, ideally/hopefully thrive! I bought this as a Cambria Orchid - catatante orange back on the 29th August. It’s 2feet3 inches tall. The place from which I purchased it says it prefers bright direct sunlight, but this app is telling me that it doesn’t. So Who do I believe? 😂 Also, any general care tips I should be aware of?
I needed some joy at my place of business. So I brought some of my phals in to grace my work window. 14 blooms on one spike, with another one budding up a storm. I think it likes its new home.

Having a really rough week, so this Lovely popping its 3 buds feels like the little bit of orchid therapy I needed. For years it has reliably had a fun scent- but only at night- that I can only describe as lemon Pledge, the commercial wood cleaning product.
Are these darker skinny growths on my cymbidium possibly bloom spikes? This cymbidium hasn’t bloomed for a couple of years or more because it was severely root rotten so I have forgotten what the bloom spikes look like. Also I thought they bloomed in the winter, so surprised something is happening. Excited nonetheless.
This is one of my Phalaenopsis/Moth Orchids. To pot or Not? That is the question. The pot it is currently in is 6 inch diameter. It has a flowering spike coming off the back of this image.
I need help with this orchid I rescued. It was being thrown away for obvious reasons and I saved it. I cut off the flower stalk and removed a loathe majority of the roots as they were rotted. It’s since put out one new leaf. I want best support it but its roots never fully remain green even when soaked twice a week for a long period of time. They are green when submerged and then within an hr of being removed from their soak they turn beige. Thinking of removing it from the orchid bark I have it in and placing it in a jar with a little bit of water at the bottom. Any suggestions?
