Can I just split this elephant ear?

If I have little plants like this with roots, do I need to keep the whole leaf attached, or can I trim some off?
My begonia is tall and lanky after loosing lots of leaves. When the leave fall off it starts more but I want to cut it way back and start new ones. When is a goid time to do this. Thanks for any help
best way to propagate a philo? should i just do water?
Just a little encouragement for anyone mulling over chopping and propagating their fiddle leaf fig. Iām so glad I did it! Itās been three months and here is the progress. It looks like itās going to branch off in 2-3 new directions and has about 6 new leaves with two more ready to pop soon. The prop in the photo I planted last week. The second cutting is still rooting in water. I donāt know if I would root a flf in water again. It got rot twice and I had to restart the woodier cut. After the fact I heard good things about using perlite or air layering, both were suggested a few times.
I propagated this hoya this summer. It had only 2 leaves and I put it directly into soil and now it has 5 leaves and doing great. I got the start from a friend who is 80 and the mother plant is over 40 years old. I'm so glad to get a great start going and hope I do as well as she has with her plant
I donāt know if Iām in the right group but I have a fiddle fig tree and Iāve had her since February 2024 and she has grown 6 leaves which Iām very grateful for but Iāve noticed that she is just a stick. I love how fiddle figs look when they branch out. Is there a way I could make that happen?
I just got this pink princess and I'm not sure if I should keep it in water or plant her. Also what is the best soil for her. As you can see she has a great root. Thanks for any helpr
Could I propagate my Croton? The first picture is when I first got it (March 2024) and the second picture is it recently (January 2025). As you can see, it lost all is foliage over time, no matter how Iāve cared for it. When I repotted it, it had separate bulbs and I replanted 3 of them. 2 died, hence the one remaining. I donāt think itāll grow its leaves to the way it was, so Iām hoping to propagate. If itās possible, how would I do it? Iāve never done a propagation. I donāt wanna have to start over and buy a new plant!
Hi, I began to sow cactus seeds but 2 days later, they all grew mold š Anyone know what I did wrong? I had them under a grow light, moistened soil, and covered the top with cling wrap. I also had them on a heated mat
Alocasia wentii, cheers buddy!!
Ok, I bought these cute vases OVER two years ago to use for propagating. These are the first cuttings I put in there!!! They rooted immediately and havenāt grown since. I know the roots are long enough to plant, but I thought I would start seeing new leaf growth. They are just staying their cute little size. Are they just waiting for their new home?
My daughter gifted some clippings for me last year. Who says you have to plant them? Maybe I just need a bigger vase?
How often does it need watering?
Ive had this fiddle fig at my office for a few months now but want one at home as well. What is the best way to propagate and best place to cut for better chance of survival?
This plant is dying and I was wondering if I still can propagate the two stems that are still alive. The only thing is I have never propagated anything before and I want to know where I should cut the stem, if I need to dry it out or if I need to transfer it into water. Hope someone can help me:)š
What are your favorite pebbles to use when propagating in water?
