How can I prop my pothos?
Can I propagate a burros tail succulent like this?
Two weeks ago, these were freshly fallen petals! I’ve only lost about 10 petals, and I have 16 more that haven’t rooted yet. I call this a success!!
Hello! I’ve been trying to propagate this pothos for a couple months now. I tried changing the water and not changing the water. I’ve read mixed advice on that. Anyway! I’m still not seeing any roots growing, either way. It’s still growing leaves and doing its thing just no roots. 😒 Would perlite or soil (prop box with a lid) be better than water? I don’t want to give up on it!
Hi everyone, I am propagating this monstera albo cutting. I started it in water, and the bottom below the node started rotting. I cut off the rot (sterile shears and everything), dipped it in rooting hormone, then put it in moist perlite. After a couple weeks, it looked extremely droopy, so I moved it back to water. Now roots are coming out, but I think the rot at the bottom is coming back. If the bottom node rots, is this a goner? Should I cut the bottom even though it’s so close to the node? Are the roots coming out of nodes? Thank you! I’ve only propped pothos before which were super easy 😅
A pegboard, some mason jars and salt shakers ✨propagation✨
I’ve been wanting to propagate my ivy which is so long it’s almost to the floor. What is the best way to propagate it? I’ve read different ways.
Love my prop-bin!
My pothos is a baby maker haha. I have to cut it down every tome it gets close to the floor cuz I have a dog and they are toxic plants. I then put the cuttings in glass with water on my wall and it looks so pretty, once they have roots I donate to my friends etc :)
Hello! Short version is: do you use rooting hormone to propagate pothos in soil? My golden pothos is root-bound in this glass container, growing in water only. She lost some leaves recently, so I want to cut the stems and grow new roots in soil (I’m not a fan of growing in water. The plants never seem to get full). I’m scared to cut and stick in soil and have it fail because this is from a family heirloom plant. I don’t own any rooting hormone currently, and I’ve never tried a DIY rooting hormone. Should I… A. Order rooting hormone powder, & wait to do this until the rooting hormone arrives B. Use a DIY rooting hormone (aloe, honey, cinnamon…) C. Put the cuttings directly in soil Thank you very much for your help!
Well.. apparently tossing this in tupperware and moss and forgetting about it for a month was the trick😂😂😂🤷🏼♀️
i accidentally sunburned my alocasia jacklyn during my recent move so i dug out some corms. i have planted and am hoping for the best! just sharing :p have a good day everyone!
Hello all, I inherited a clusia rosea that just didn’t do too well and so am trying to propagate in water to try and save something! Can you tell me if this looks promising or whether I am doing something wrong? Why is it looking like this 🥺? How can I correct this?? Thanks so much x
I am looking to plant the sprouts of my Hawaiian Spider Plant. When I propagated my other basic/normal spider plant, I cut off the shoots and put them in water to root. It worked well and the baby plants are doing great (yay!). However, I’ve been looking online to see if a Hawaiian Spider Plant propagates this way, and I keep seeing conflicting results. Some say to cut them off and put them in water, while some say to put the sprouts in soil while attached to the mother plant. What do I do? If I do the second, how do I know when to cut the cord, so to speak? I am definitely not an expert gardener by any means, so I welcome any and all advice! Edit: P.S. - if anyone wants to share if I should snip the floppy leaf in the picture, feel free to let me know. The rest are pretty upright, minus that floppy guy.
Should I repot my spider plant when I see the roots this? I’ve been researching about it and getting conflicting information online.
Hello this is Martha! She is three years old and growing so beautifully. But I have a few questions #1 I think she might need to be repotted but I’m not sure what size I should go to or if she is fine in her current home. #2 I have been thinking of propagating her and I thought about clipping the vine at the bottom there but I haven’t propagated successfully before and was hoping for advice 🥰 let me know what you think!
I had this in water I’m sure for over a month or 2 - and no roots. This area where it splits is a node, correct?
So happy about my snake plant cuttings, i’ve been waiting a whole month or two for them to even grow baby roots 🤣
Hi! Any tips for propagating this little variegated string of hearts? I got her off an experienced plant caretaker and was told to just stick her in some soil. Already watered a few days ago!
I think the ginger air propagated itself lol
