Trying to pick a perrenial to replace my lantanas after the last heatwave roasted them. Only things that’s done consistently well are asiatic and oriental lilies, but I’d love to learn about some new species I could try in the space. My townhome leaves me with just this patch to work with, and there’s concrete 6 inches under the soil here, so anything needs to have a fairly shallow root system. If anyone has recommendations for something that’s: - a perennial in Zone 7a-7b (Southeastern PA) - can handle full-sun/south-facing sun - fairly shallow root system and fairly low-maintenance - attracts pollinators (not necessary, but I’d love to attract some butterflies) then any recs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! I’m not new to houseplant care, but I’m definitely a rookie gardener. I’m trying these Calla Lilies out for the season since other lilies have done so well in this spot, but I’ve read they’re only annuals here, so if anyone knows if I should hold back on getting the dark ones in the last photo, please let me know. Thanks! 😊
