When you have a full-time job, sometimes you gotta garden in the rain. 🌧️🌿

Just finished setting up my summer garden for the first time! They look pretty good, but I am noticing a few bugs on them, and I’m worried that my okra and cucumbers aren’t doing well. I also repotted my monstera and am starting the process of acclimating them to the outside.

I planted a few gardening plants yesterday (tomato, bell pepper, strawberry, okra, and cucumber) and I was looking at my plants today and noticed that my cucumber had some small bugs on it. I’m not sure what they are or how to treat it, so any advice is appreciated!

I really want/need to move these to a better spot. Is it too late? The area they are currently in gets sun for basically 20 hours a day in the middle of the summer and the heat reflects off of the house. They survive, but it takes keeping water constantly running to keep them alive. My strawberries are the same story... well actually worse. I have managed to keep the strawberries alive for 3 years, but they struggle hard and they almost didn't come back after a 3 day vacation in the summer last year.

Saved a bee today! This guy was so thirsty he ran right through my hose. I quickly threw together a bee bowl with some rocks, flowers and sugar water. He drank up and then boarded a leaf and let me carry him to the sunshine to dry off his wings. Flew off looking brand new after a while! It’s the little things while gardening sometimes. I love our pollinator friends, going to get some permanent bee bowls for the yard because they’re visiting so much lately 🐝

I started this Beefsteak tomato plant indoors, and in about a week or so, I will planting it outside in my garden bed. Do I just just the entire cup, remove the soil at a whole, and plant it directly in the garden bed OR do i have to separate the stems and only plant one or two in the garden be? This is my first year as a plant mom, so I’m not that knowledgeable yet. Any advice helps!!!

What type of shrub is this? I’m not getting a consistent id on this shrub. It’s about 5 years old. It can grow really tall, I just cut it down to about 6 ft but the branches were rubbing against my leaf gutters before I pruned it. It was id’d as a crape Myrtle, and a Ligustrum. Not sure I agree with either. Never seen a bloom on it in 5 years.

When it comes to rose bushes or roses in general. When removing the dead leaves and old flowers, should I remove/cut off the old dead wood that's not producing anything? I know I should remove the dead stuff away from the plant on the ground but just wondering about the dead wood part. Also can I do now, mid spring? Zone 6b MI

Bought a mini green house to put outside mostly to protect my plants from Florida rain and harsh sun we’ll see if I need to add a shade cloth + fans 🙈 if anyone has had luck with these lmk your tips and what you use it for!

i am new to gardening, i’m trying to take it up as a hobby! i have two hostas that i was given. i have a pretty sunny area at my house and a shaded area, there really isn’t an in between. where would it be best to plant the hostas?

Hi! I am creating a patio garden with little space on my apartment balcony (4’x8’ with small chairs). Does anyone have recommendations for planters that I can hang over the railing to maximize space? I’m Ideally would like at least 10-12” deep but also haven’t had much luck with Dee railing planters. Hoping to put my cherry tomatoes or jalepenos if possible Thank you!🥰

Hello, I am new to gardening this year. I am in zone 7b and i’m looking for some easy things to plant with easy care. I’d like to plant some herbs, fruits, or veggies. they will be in the plastic planter boxes sitting on the top shelf of this. Any ideas?

QUESTION: Will pulling out a nursery pot from a filled container damage surrounding roots? CONTEXT: So as the title says, I want to put a 7 gallon nursery pot into a 20” pot. I’m planting one big plant in the center and surrounding plants for mulch and aesthetics. However, I’m only putting the nursery pot in there to “reserve” space for the roots of the big plant. My plan is to pull out the 7 gallon after a couple months and repot the plant fully in the 20”. But I’m worried that by then the surrounding plants will be close/touching the exterior of the 7 gallon and I want to avoid harming the roots as I pull it out. So, will that be the case? Or does it depend on the plants root growth whether they’ll be mature enough by the time I pull out the 7 gallon? Thank you so much!

Hi all! I am getting ready to leave for a week but I am worried about how to prep my outdoor plants that need full sun. I just bought them two weeks ago, so they are all still in pots. I have tomatoes, salvia, asiatic lily, lavender, clematis, and African irises. I live in the southern United States, where it’s pretty warm and I’m worried about them drying out. Any suggestions/tips are gladly appreciated

Just wanted to share my orange tree! It’s probably several decades old and no one has pruned it in at least 5 years. I just moved in and finally tackled it, even climbing into the tree to get dead growth I couldn’t reach at the top with a step ladder! Pruning makes such a difference :)

Hello! Does anyone know what is wrong with my blackcurrants?

I need help with my green house. I’ve had it for a while and it’s in a spot where it get sun all day, I know I need to move it. It should have morning light and afternoon shade correct? I want to decorate it and make it pretty but I need help with the temp it gets way to hot and I often have the window all the way open and the door all the way open however I would like the door to stay closed. It has a 50% sun blocker covering the top and the long sides are facing east and west. How do I keep it cool during the day where should I move it and any tips for keeping it cool and pretty and how can I manage it with no place to plug a fan in I might get a solar fan. I also have a temp thing and humidity but I need one that I know it accurate and has a app so I can see the temperature and from my phone as I am often away all day at school.
