Question, whats the best alocasia for a person who is new to alocasias?

Does anyone know what is causing these brown tips? I don’t think it’s a humidity thing. They’re not dry and the plant is right next to a humidifier. It’s planted in leca and I water it with purived plant food.

So she’s been doing well but is in a transition period from soil to lechuza pon, so she’s slowly trying to transform her soil roots to water roots… could that be why I’m getting spots like this? Looks like overwatering to me so I’m thinking the pon is only dry on top and I need to stick to a strict schedule as it’s holding more moisture in the bottom pebbles than I realize. Cause it’s not like soil, it’s hard to dip your finger to feel tiny pebbles lol… makes a mess by spilling them over the pot. My thoughts were I needed to water once a week and adding a tiny bit to the reservoir to help it grow water roots, is that too often? Sometimes I may even add water sooner than a week if I notice leaves curling a bit but maybe I need to focus on humidity vs. watering. Thoughts?

I am struggling!!!!!!! My baby is slowly dying and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Some are telling me lighting, some are saying water proportions and I don’t know which way to go! I will be trimming off the yellow leaves. Any suggestions?

Got this dying low rider about 6 months ago, it’s now thriving! They are high maintenance plants but once you figure them out it’s so rewarding. 🥰

Hello! Need help identifying what the problem could be. It has a new leaf growing so I’m not sure if I should cut it off or just leave it. I appreciate any advice/comments 😊 the other little leaf seems to be perfectly fine!

Help! Does anyone know why my dragon scale leaf is growing/facing downwards? The drooping stalk does not feel or look unhealthy and doesn’t feel “droopy” if that makes sense. The plant seems otherwise very healthy. 😭

Can someone identify what this is starting to grow out of my alocasia. Is it a root?

Question: I just recently moved my quilted alocasia and my silver dragon into fluval stratum. Both of them were showing signs of root rot. That’s why I made the transition. My questions are, how often should I add water? How often should I change it out for fresh stratum?

My husband (who usually knows 0 about plants) just told me this doesn’t do anything and that I should just get a glass cabinet to put them in (like ok, don’t tell me when to have a good time buddy 😂). But now I’m curious - do the bags over them help with humidity? Our house is 45-50% humidity usually, unless we get extreme cold temps and the furnace has to switch on. I thought this would help keep their humidity a bit higher than the ambient level in our house.

Does anyone know what kind of alocasia this is?

SOS, alocasia peeps. These two were rescued from the clearance aisle after a freeze. They are in my converted greenhouse bathroom, 50 to 70% humidity, warm temperatures, receiving about 250 foot candles of light. The photos show when I first got them, versus today. Did they go dormant? Or are they dying? When I first got them, I did check their roots, which were actually very healthy, so I’m hoping this is dormancy. But of all my alocasias, black velvet and Melos hate me the most 🫠 so I’m not sure. Thoughts?
