I recently changed the medium on my Regal shields and atleast 50-60 corms fell off. Some I plucked but the majority came of voluntarily. My question is about the new leaf. It's like half the size of the previous ones, both in the stem height and leaf size. Is this a result of changing the medium or removing the corms ? Has the maturity level of the plant been stunted?

My new additions 🌱💚
I’m trying to ID this alocasia that I got from the son of a collector who had recently passed away. She had all sorts of hybrids. This looks like a ninja/black velvet/maharani at first glance, but the leafs aren’t that thick and aren’t hugely velvety. They have a sheen similar to a regal shield? She did have corms from a maharani aurea there but it doesn’t have any variegation? This is also my first time growing in semi hydro and I’d be grateful for any tips? I have this one and a dragon scale albo. They had completely dried out when I got them so I’m nervous about rot
Bought my first Alocasia! Any tips would be appreciated 💕 Alocasia Azlanii
Just so proud of her new leaf 🍃! I think this is my biggest Alocasia leaf as of yet!
The new leaf on my Red Secret baby is just 🤌
Unknown corm. Any ideas?? This is the first leaf. It’s about 3 inches long and it just opened today.
🪴The color of a new black velvet alocacia leaf is the prettiest color I’ve ever seen in nature! And the mature leaves are a close second! 🖤
My regal shield’s soil has been drying out quickly, like every two days. I repotted her a few months ago. She is in potting soil with a bit of a chunky soil mix for extra drainage (perlite, charcoal, and orchid bark). She is a really big girl and has given me many corms that are growing quickly and are their own full plants now! Should I add more soil to cover some or all of her base? I DONT want to chop and prop her, I will do that to any of my other plants no problem, but I’m too emotionally invested in her 😅
My first alocasia!! I’m sooo excited to watch her grow! Any tips and/or advice is welcomed. She’s been sitting outside at kroger for a few weeks now. I think i may leave it outside until the weather changes (tell me if thats a bad idea 🤭). I live in Arkansas so it wont cool down until about early late October - early November.
I think it might be time… 🤔
A tiny ghost in my corm box 👻
Obsessed with his new leaf😍
my tiny alocasia collection have been loving the weather recently :)
Rescued these from a clearance section yesterday not knowing anything about them. Should the stems be so tall as you can see one is bending over quite badly. Should I repot or let them get used to the new place first? Do pebble trays work or do I need a humidifier? Any advice appreciated!
My regal shield’s oldest leaf has grown so large and heavy that the petioles base is unable to support it. I heard a wet celery crunching sound while playing helldivers just now and I look over to see this tragedy. Does anybody have any recommendations? Either for if I should just trim it or not, or if I should, how can I preserve the leaf as it’s my favorite plant. I’ve already used garden Velcro to hold the leaf up the first time it fell but this time there’s nowhere to support it from. Also enjoy my stepchildren making a guest appearance.
Hello 👋 my black velvet put out this mutated pup. Does anyone have any idea what it would be classified as?
