So I decided to do a little terrarium experiment. This is my first alocasia and I knew they require high humidity. So I decided to take a corm and grow it out of a water bottle I reshaped⊠I used horticultural sentiment as the base. It has been growing very well itâs just I keep having the same problem over and over again. It will grow either one or two perfect leaves then one has to turn yellow before a new one sprouts. What you see in the picture below is one of the new leaves. And the tip of the old leaf yellowing. All advice would be appreciated!! (I plan to eventually get a self watering pot and re-pot it in pon in the future.)
Hi everyone, Iâve been a plant mum now for a while and am considering buying my first Alocasia! Iâm based in the U.K. and have heard from more experienced plant people that theyâre difficult to keep alive âčïž Can anyone give me any tips for keeping this baby alive if I was to purchase her?

Would you divide these or let them grow the way they are? I want a full plant, but donât want to restrict them negatively.

I just had to share this beautiful new leaf that unfurled two days ago on my Pink Dragon. Itâs HUGE! 10â long x 5â wide! The older two leaves are each 5â long x 3â wide. The plant is 16.5 inches tall. Never has she produced a leaf this big!! Itâs crazy! đ
Also, thereâs already a new stem starting. I cut off a dead leaf right before I watered her tonight. If she produces a new leaf, one dies. Every time and almost simultaneously. She never gives without taking away. Is this normal for Alocasia? đ€
I swear, I canât tell if this plant hates me or loves me. Sheâs currently feeling and showing me all the love. But her moods are fickle. Btw, her name is Maleficent and lemme tell ya, IT FITS! đ§đ»đ

I got these two black velvets (revert and variegated) as a bonus when i picked up a new bambino. Iâve never had anything so small/tiny/young. Any tips? When can i plant them?

Planta says this is an Alocasia Reginae. Does anyone know why these off white colors spots are forming?

(the white dust is from using a paper towel after spraying) I found some spider mites on my frydek would they be the cause of these spots? I thought I used to much fertilizer or let the water get to low (itâs in semi hydro) since I found the spider mites Iâm not sure now

Hi guys! I was wondering if you guys knew what type of Alocasia this is? I tried scanning in the app but it keeps saying its an Alocasia Black Velvet, which I know its now true. It didnât have a tag when I bought it. I think Iâm between elephant ear Morocco or Ivory Coast. Any insight would be helpful!
