Excited and nervous! đŹBut she is a beauty!!!!đ„°
Got my dream plant today. Iâm a fellow alocasia gal.
Any idea why my jacklyn is curling? Sheâs under a grow light and near a humidifier. Pushes new leaves each is the same. Healthy looking roots. I have a Jacklyn Aurea in the same location, not curling at allâŠ
I just reported this guy into a bigger pot and think he likes it. Leaves look amazing and heâs pushing out an inflorescence! Been doing some research on how to collect pollen and how to pollenate alocasia. If anyone has any good resources or good places to look for resources let me know please
I recently changed the medium on my Regal shields and atleast 50-60 corms fell off. Some I plucked but the majority came of voluntarily. My question is about the new leaf. It's like half the size of the previous ones, both in the stem height and leaf size. Is this a result of changing the medium or removing the corms ? Has the maturity level of the plant been stunted?

Iâm trying to ID this alocasia that I got from the son of a collector who had recently passed away. She had all sorts of hybrids. This looks like a ninja/black velvet/maharani at first glance, but the leafs arenât that thick and arenât hugely velvety. They have a sheen similar to a regal shield? She did have corms from a maharani aurea there but it doesnât have any variegation? This is also my first time growing in semi hydro and Iâd be grateful for any tips? I have this one and a dragon scale albo. They had completely dried out when I got them so Iâm nervous about rot
Bought my first Alocasia! Any tips would be appreciated đ Alocasia Azlanii
Just so proud of her new leaf đ! I think this is my biggest Alocasia leaf as of yet!
The new leaf on my Red Secret baby is just đ€
Unknown corm. Any ideas?? This is the first leaf. Itâs about 3 inches long and it just opened today.
đȘŽThe color of a new black velvet alocacia leaf is the prettiest color Iâve ever seen in nature! And the mature leaves are a close second! đ€
My regal shieldâs soil has been drying out quickly, like every two days. I repotted her a few months ago. She is in potting soil with a bit of a chunky soil mix for extra drainage (perlite, charcoal, and orchid bark). She is a really big girl and has given me many corms that are growing quickly and are their own full plants now! Should I add more soil to cover some or all of her base? I DONT want to chop and prop her, I will do that to any of my other plants no problem, but Iâm too emotionally invested in her đ
My first alocasia!! Iâm sooo excited to watch her grow! Any tips and/or advice is welcomed. Sheâs been sitting outside at kroger for a few weeks now. I think i may leave it outside until the weather changes (tell me if thats a bad idea đ€). I live in Arkansas so it wont cool down until about early late October - early November.
I think it might be time⊠đ€
