Hello! I got a few new plants while traveling last week. I have them quarantined currently. I sprayed them down with neem oil. I have heard Hoya compacta are prone to pests. I only got a small piece so I am hoping for advice/suggestions on how to best care for it. TIA! š

Just wanting to double-check Iām doing this right.
Mr Hoya (Iām not sure which specific species, so probably carnosa?) has been handed down through the generations ā we are at least certain that the original plant dates back to the 1920s and my great-grandmother, but Iām not sure if this is a propagation from the original. If this is the original, my dad said he could be a generation or two older. Heās always been kept in humid places like New York, Minnesota and Northern Virginia. My parents have been stationed in the UK for 3 years, so now itās my turn to care for Mr Hoya. My parents just shipped him 1700 mi to me in Colorado.
They also say that he hadnāt been repotted in 10 years, and was suffering from ābenign neglectā. š„“
He was watered every 6 days when with my parents, but since itās significantly drier here, should I water more often? I also am willing to mist him as needed.
Heās potted in a 10ā pot with 2(ish) parts indoor potting soil, 1 part perlite, and 1 part orchid bark because Iām slightly terrified that Iāll drown him by accident. I also got him a wall trellis, but my mom says heās never been super interested in climbingā¦
Any advice? I feel like I got thrown in the deep end, as a certified black thumb.

Can anyone help me identify these Hoyas? The first was a gift with no label, and the other was just labeled as āblack marginā when I got it. After googling Iāve come to learn that just describes the black coloring around the leaf edges and doesnāt apply to a single species of Hoya. Thanks in advance for the help!

Is your Hoya Krohniana Black not black? The picture shows the one I bought a few months ago that clearly has black leaves. The one next to arrived yesterday without dark leaves. Both are supposed to be the black variety. Iām assuming the green one needs more sun. So, I put it outside to get morning to see if it will tan. š¤Ø

Is it ok to repot a Hoya while itās blooming or should I wait until itās done? Thanks so much!
My Hoya Elliptica finally put out a full healthy set of blooms and they are very juicy! The nectar has a light sugary flavor. Iām not sure if it will attract ants since itās outside on a stool.
Before you ask, Iām not a card carrying member of the hoya licking community! I didnāt even know nectar eating was a āthingā until recently! Hoya people be different!š
