hi!!! just wanted to share an update on my amazingly resilient “Bean B”! i posted a few weeks ago about my worries of rotating it during the heat wave, and i thank you for the advice i got. here it is today!!!! (pls don’t judge the chopstick lattice- i couldn’t find one small enough to fit in the pot i was given ;-; ) the second of many heat waves is set to start today, and i’m hopeful everyone will survive

MY YUZU HARVEST!!!!! I’m so proud of this tree, and I’ll ripe them up in a box. I’ve got 43 this year and I can’t wait to see how they are! I also saw a tiny mouse scuttling in the branches while I was picking a yuzu. Those little fruit thieves steal all my fruit and gnaw at their peels. What do I do about it? I don’t want to harm it, just stop it from eating my fruits. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

This year someone left on my front stoop a small dehydrated cup of a pepper plant . I believe the plant came from Lowe’s but I cannot say for a fact. I’m not even sure who left it on my stoop, but I planted it thinking that it was gonna be a green pepper plant. Well, it’s not it’s a longhorn pepper plant. Now I like a good jalapeño pepper shoved in the back where my molars are and eaten that way, cause they’re sweet, but typically I’m not a pepper plant person other than bell peppers. What am I supposed to do with these peppers?
hello hive mind! i need advice my bean finally sprouted (and it honestly happened overnight- this was also not the bean that i thought was gonna explode like this!!!) and now im thinking of what to do with it. the last time i had sprouts, we had a heat wave with high UV and i cooked them accidentally under the humidity dome. this time, ive kept them inside but on a windowsill that has direct sun in the afternoon. QUESTION: now that bean B has sprouted, do i keep it inside or remove the humidity dome and move it outside? Southern Ontario is going through a crazy heat wave rn (Canada Day yesterday capped out at 39C but felt like 47C🥵). i dont want to cook this bean now that its finally growing, but i also dont want to ruin it by keeping it inside. thoughts?????? pic of the bean in question as well as my cooked ones from last time for tax (not all beans)

Hi everyone! This is by Lily, and after I realised she needed more light I put her in front of the window and open the curtains every day. But all my basil plants are growing as straight as an arrow, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried lightly pinching off the top leaves, and I didn’t have the heart to do anything more drastic unless I was sure. Any ways I could let it grow more fully? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Can you believe my green onions have grown between 1 and 3 inches since I planted them a few days ago? I’d say they’re growing like weeds, but weeds would definitely be terrible for my garden 😁
I’m happily surprised my recently planted strawberries are already multiplying and getting their full red color. 🍓💕😊
Hi friends i’m requesting help bc idk what im doing and im scared ive killed all my veggies first photo was this morning (i was shocked how much my zucchini exploded) second picture was this afternoon (maybe an hour ago). they were humid this morning, had them outside all day, they were in the sun on the table i have them on with the lid closed. heat got up to around 28 today in direct sun. did i cook my veggies can i fix this pls help
Garden Update: 1. I got my first ripe tomato today! Two more tomatoes are on the way to be fully ripe too. 2. I was looking at my bell pepper and I noticed that one was red, but I only have green bell peppers. Does anyone know why this is happening? 3. I’ve been noticing that all of my strawberries when they are ripe or close to it, get this black stuff on it and become mushy and it looks like they basically disintegrate. I’m not sure why this is. Does anyone know why? My only guess is either pests or I’m leaving them on the plant too long when they ripen.
Any recommendations on what I could grow is this shady lil corner? It gets plenty of indirect sunlight, and I live in zone 6a/7b. I’m VERY new to gardening and have a 5x10’ area to work with. Half of my balcony gets partial/direct (6-7hr, very intense) sunlight, but this little corner gets pretty much no direct. I found this tiered planter on FB marketplace. I’d hate to plant anything that couldn’t survive the environment.. At first I was thinking leafy greens in a stacked bed (lettuce, spinach, etc).. But now I’m thinking maybe herbs..? Any advice is incredibly helpful!! Thank you :)
After focusing on my indoor and outdoor plants, I’ve finally turned my attention to my 2026 vegetable garden. I used grow bags for veggies that need deep soil,large basins for those that can grow in shallow soil, and pots for others. This is the largest variety of vegetables I’ve grown, so I’m crossing my fingers that they will all do well this season. Any tips for me? Wanting advice on trimming- i’ve never rly been able to keep plants alive so i’m super nervous here. the app is recommending i cut back “suckers” from my tomato plant. just wondering if there’s any in particular i should be looking for, and what is a good visual to help decide what stays and what goes? First Tomatoes!
Can anyone tell me why my potted tomato plant is shriveling up its leaves and not growing much? He has some fruit but the plant itself isn’t progressing much. We’ve had lots of intense storms and rain this past week so I’m not sure if that’s it.
