I just found this group and I am so excited to post on here. But it is currently winter so next summer I will plant a garden. For the second time any tips or suggestions it is a little garden. Any thing you recommend to plant?

Just spent the time to finally clear up all the dead and dying parts of my parsley plant and it looks a lot better.

Hi, is it ok to put basil, rosemary and/or mint in self-watering pots?

Meg

My rosemary plant is getting worse. I don’t know if I need to prune it or give it a proper burial. I’m following directions and fertilised her yesterday. She is a rescue. Maybe I need to prune her AND repot since she was in a pot with dead thyme and mostly dead mint. I’m floundering here.

How often should I water my seeds and how often once they sprout? (Primarily herbs and flowers)

I started a bunch of seeds today! I had intended to start some bell peppers. That’s it. If I could grow bell peppers and tomatoes year-round I’d be the happiest girl ever. I can’t tell you what it means to me to finally be in a physical and mental space that allows me to grow and create things. (Bonus isopod cave for attention because it’s a new isopod love shack I made for a species that needs a boost)

It’s been a goal of mine, for years now, to have 75% or better of my landscaping be edible or medicinal and I still have a long long way to go. However, we just bought our first home and the yard is pretty much a blank slate so we have an opportunity to get started. I have a sickly rescue rosemary, Isabel, and I’m doing what I can to help her recover. I’m working on seeding some white sage as well. I used to do really well with Basil and I LOVE thyme. (They’re so cute!) I think I’ll pick up a thyme or thyme seeds soon.

Nothing is better than a tall glass of ice tea dressed with home grown Meyer lemons and mint. Delicious!

Any tips on growing Rosemary indoors? I’d love to have a year round rosemary plant and have tried multiple times. My last one actually lasted a good bit longer than my last attempts but has basically all turned woody and dried up now. It’s on a window that gets direct light almost all day and I was careful with the watering schedule, but alas it still died. What am I doing wrong?

My mango tree should not be fruiting. It’s only 2 feet tall, and I cut off the tall branch that was putting out flowers. It thwarted my efforts and put out a bunch of lateral branches instead, and now it’s covered in baby mangoes. I know I should chop them all off, but I can’t bring myself to do so!

Harvest time soon! Four Meyer Lemons on one tree. Six in the other. And one lone Calamondin. No scurvy for me. Yay!
