I have an idea of a few of these, but the plant identifier is giving me vague ideas. Specific identifications would be lovely please!
Is this a death bloom? Or is she fine? š
Does anyone ever pick/prune the lower leaves of their paddle plant if theyāre touching the soil?
What am I doing wrong?! Iām not going to pretend I know what Iām doing ā I bought this with little hope, a lot of delusion, and a tiny dream, and Iām actually stunned itās lived for the month or so that it has ā it even outgrew its original pot! However, it looksā¦confused. I am also confused! I see drooping, stretching(?), some āliftingā that looks healthy, and even some new growth in the center, but those lower leaves do not seem like theyāre happy and I donāt know how to help. I sized up only 1ā in pots, because it was truly overwhelming the pot it was in and I only had a 3.5ā terra cotta pot available that I felt comfortable using. Iām using a full spectrum grow light 10-14 hours a day because the natural light from my east-facing window is so unreliable I donāt count it at all. Iāve been gradually increasing the power of the grow light until midday and then gradually decreasing the light again after a few hours of āfull afternoon sunā until evening. Basically, Iām trying to mimic the natural sun. I feel like a lunatic, but I am bent on keeping this thing alive and thriving. Iām wondering if a second grow light (this is a small desk clip-on version because it serves only one 2.5ā echeveria) would be helpful for more 360° lighting, although the plant is rotated throughout the day. I am avoiding watering more than once a week ā less, ideally. I am aiming for completely dry soil before watering, and the last watering was 12 hours after repotting (just under one week ago) to hopefully encourage root growth. The original soil was left intact during repotting, with small rocks and a small amount of succulent soil added, so it didnāt require a full watering, but it felt right after transferring to a new pot. I have not watered it since then, and will wait until the soil is dry. All leaves except the absolute lowest (canāt feel those, wonāt hurt the plant to try to manipulate them) are plump and firm, with some reaching toward the āsun,ā others lying more flat (presumably in need of more light?) and a few leaves neither stretching nor reaching, that appear to be the healthiest. The photos below are not showing the plant as it would be directly under the grow light ā it is incredibly difficult to get a photo under the light without a shadow that obscures the issues. I apologize if this makes any assistance more difficult, but I am open to a second grow light if light seems to be the immediate issue. ANY and all advice is greatly appreciated and welcomed! I have NO idea what Iām doing! Edit: all of the advice Iāve gotten has been so reassuring and kind. Thank you! Also, itās totally a sempervivum! Sorry for mislabeling this! Iām changing the plant on my profile but any use of āecheveriaā here can be replaced with āsempervivum.ā :)
Gorgeous and handsome... My persian carpet flower now thriving. Hoping he'll flower for me when he's ready šš¤ā¤ļø
Hia! I got this plant a few months ago and completely forgot what it was called, anyone know?
My babies are doing great. Will be putting them in tiny pots soon
Saved these today!šµāļø (Free cuttings box on the side of the road) Hope to keep them happy!
What seems to be chewing on my Autumn Joy??
Does anyone know what type of succulents this is?
How often do y'all fertilize your cacti and succulents?
Okay so I saved this guys off the side of the road (free cuttings box) the bulb is hanging on by a thread! Should I just pot that off and plant on it own?! Would that help or hurt?
1) can these guys live together happy? 2) how long can I keep them in this? (It was a gift)
Desert Rose help! I got this plant last summer, and replanted it a few weeks ago from a plastic pot to this terracotta one roughly the same size (very well draining cactus mix). Watered it about 10 days ago and made some cuts to promote branching. However, the base of the stem is still slightly soft. It sometimes gets like this when it needs water, but I know itās also a potential sign of overwatering. Any advice on trunk maintenance/saving and maintaining this adenium?
Can anyone identify this plant? I was given it as a gift and there was nothing identifying it. Planta is telling me itās a jade but I know that it is not. Reminds me of Portulaca or something similar.
hi, so i got this aloe plant a little over a year ago and i feel like no matter what i do she will not grow. i can never get more than just a few arms before something happens and they get removed, plus i noticed recently she has no roots. for reference: she only gets water every 21ish days, IF the soil is dry (one of the arm looks a little dry so we may be slightly overdue). currently living in bright indirect light, but lately since itās been nice iāve been putting her outside in the sun for a few hours a day (she was attacked by my roommates dog which is why we have a broken arm). the pot is about 4.5ā in diameter and has rocks and a hole for drainage. aside from maybe getting a smaller pot, is there anything else i should be doing? when she was thriving, it was on neglect so iām assuming itāll take time, but i want to make sure im doing things right so i donāt end back up at square one also please excuse the forceps, i didnāt have anything else to support her. and please be nice or ill cry.
Help! My sting of tears is dying. I have it in front of my window which gets a lot of sun. I water it when the app tells me too. I donāt know what to do,
Handsome guy here, Myrtillocactus Geometrizans "DINOSAUR BACK" š.
Hi all - Iām stumped on this one and looking for ideas/advice. TIA!! I have a few succulents in my corporate office space because I work from home a lot. First time in the office in 12-14 days and these two looked awful! They are about a foot or less away from a floor to ceiling west facing window. I watered before I left last because I knew Iād be gone awhile. The aloe was moved here from my home the last time I was there (12-14 days ago) - was super green when I moved it and today was brownish and sad. The jade is yellowing for IDK why, but I moved it to that sunnier location 3-4 weeks ago. I did notice thereās a vent right below them so I moved them to my desk which is still very well lit, but away from vents. Any other ideas? Iām not super great at succulents, but these two had been doing so well and Iād hate to lose them.
