I bought this about a month and a half ago, maybe closer to two months now. I just found out itās a Donkey tail through the plant ID. It has a few tails (not sure if thatās the appropriate term for this plant). Itās very delicate and the leaves fall off. Iām wondering if I should cut the long empty pieces and propagate the ends. You can see new growth near the roots. Iām just not sure what to do. Iāve had other succulent plants before, but this is my first Donkey Tail. Will leaves grow in the this empty space. Does cutting the tails help? Any suggestions?
My string of pearls is starting to die and Iām crazy about it! Anyone have any tips or suggestions?
Ignore the prickly pear in the pot lol these sprouted out of the original prickly pear soil and Iāve been letting them grow for about 6 months trying to figure out where they came from or what they are. At first I thought maybe baby prickly pears but now Iām wondering otherwise. Anyone know? Google wasnāt very informative.
Hello! New plant carer here! I was wondering what succulent food/fertilizer you use? Iāve had an echevaria for almost a year now have done nothing with her I lowkey forgot š and sheās thriving. But going forward with new ones Iād like to take proper care of them įµĢ
Can anyone give me some tips to encourage my aeonium arboreum schwarzkopf to grow faster? They just donāt seem to be doing that well. Theyāre under a grow light all day and Iāve been fertilising them according to Plant schedule.
1st pic: when I bought it about 2 months ago (only shows 1 side). 2nd pic: now. I canāt believe it already shot out a death bloom and itās so small.
Hi! *Beheading question! Iām not sure if my other posts are visible here but Iām very new to keeping succulents, and VERY new to keeping them alive. Still not sure Iām doing that, but we persist. My plant IDs might be off, so please feel free to correct me! I have an important question about my echeveria chroma (again, not 100% on the ID, but it was advertised as such) and potential beheading! Before I get too crazy and have to learn how to properly behead a plant, can anyone tell me if this is beheading material, decent growth, etc? I think I expected this plant, as an echeveria, to be more compact (I have an echeveria painted lady that is very stereotypically beautiful!) but upon arrival it had a bit of height to it. Much to my surprise and delight, this thing has been GROWING. I think there was new leaf formation daily for the first few weeks. Itās gotten slower now as the two bigger ārosettesā have formed at the top, but when the plant arrived it was very plain looking and had no rosette formations. I think theyāre beautiful, and they look like a good thing, but I donāt want to ruin them before they get a chance to thrive! Iāve had it for about a month and have attached photos with the newest leaves, both with the area I am concerned about circled and without, for visibility! I donāt want this little portion of the plant to die due to its position in between two other main stems, but I have NO idea what Iād be getting myself into removing part of this plant and attempting to get it to root, etc. Overall, the plant seems really healthy and happy (yay!) but I want to keep it that way, and I know with succulents, typically, less is more. I also understand that this is not propagating, so the entire process would look different than removing a single leaf, and thereās a chance the removed leaves/rosettes/baby plant(?) wonāt make it or Iāll traumatize the original plant. What would you do?! If thereās any info I can add that would be helpful, please let me know! I appreciate all information in advance ā the internet is vast and conflicting and I consistently get great, helpful feedback on this app. Any advice is welcome, and highly appreciated! Thank you! (Please ignore the ~etoliated leaf. Weāre doing our best here and it was really long when I got it!)
Does anyone know how I can save these ? I got them from a student who was going to use them for a school project but ended up not needing them.
My sweet little sand dollar cactus is blooming! š„¹
This was shoved under a shelf at HD. Come to me.
New succulent unlocked! Researching into how to look after him but any and all advice is appreciated!! šŖ“
My largest cactus got entirely too big for his pot and also started rotting because the center trapped water. So after propagation i have 5 (plus a sixth I cut off last year from a branch that hung far out of the pot). Now i just need to find people to gift all my extra cacti to
Hey guys, this is my cactus named Jack. Iāve had him for about a year and he was given to me as a gift. I have never repotted him and he seems very content in his pot. I was just wondering if anyone had an idea how old he is based off of his looks?? Iāve always been curious. Also, does anyone think I should repot him?
I'm starting to get obsessed with cacti does anyone have any suggestions for easy, flowering, cacti?
I found this adorable cactus at a nursery today. It was sold as a ā2.75ā color ball cactusāā¦I believe it is some kind of gymnocalycium but Iām not sure what type. Does anyone have any tips on figuring out what type she might be? She also has no green on her anywhere. She is purple with pops of pink. There is a bud so photosynthesis must be happening; but is the purple sun stressing? Should that actually be a green color?
I have a Copper King I love and wanted more. Just received these in the mail. Anyone know what these black things are? Never had them on mine.
June 3rd vs June 28th, 2025. The two pads in a cement planter are pups from last year. I can confirm they are slowwwwww growers. Note that this was my first "big plant," and it went through all kinds of naive experiments - it also used to be a squirrel snack.
Things are growing! I'm particularly excited that the little red gymnocalycium is finally budding. I refused to graft it, and I stand by that haha. And my paws are going absolutely nuts with flowers.
Heeeelp! Anyone knows what is happening to my cactusš„²
