Have you looked into any of the holiday cactuses?
1 LikeNo, how are they?
0 LikesHoliday cacti are really nice. Because they're tropical, thier care is similar to non-succulent plants. As for desert species, I've found barrel-type cacti tend to do well
1 LikeThank you! Do you know where I can purchase holiday cacti?

1 LikeI'll look into that Thank you!
0 LikesI have a lot of luck with getting mammillaria cacti to flower every year. I stop watering around the first day of winter and don’t water again until the first day of spring.
2 LikesThank you so much!
1 LikeMammillaria are easy to get to flower as long as the proper light is provided
1 LikeAh yes prickly pears are great. They grow everywhere and I mean everywhere where i live and they get these lovely yellow flowers that turn into fruit! There are also two other species that flower and fruit but i don't know what they are called. One gives lovely magenta flowers and the other one serves up bright red flowers.
