GUYS so like a few weeks ago some of the leaves of my snake plant were drooping. It seemed to be underwatering bc I measured the dryness of the soil with a skewer. The weird thing is that I watered it two days ago…so I checked the roots and I repotted it because I thought maybe it was soaking up the water too quickly since it was rootbound. After two-three weeks of waiting the leaves have still not undrooped, and the soil is still moist. ??? What is happening? Some additional details: the tips of the leaves that are drooping are turning brown. I’ve been watering it exactly when I should and I even measure the moisture of the soil before watering. The base of most of the leaves (even some of the ones that aren’t drooping) and wrinkled/creased like low-quality leather. It has drainage holes and the soil is plenty airy so I’m so baffled as to what is wrong.
I need help please I am new to plants and my cactus does not look good and I don’t know what to do to help it
My burros tail has been happily living in this window for the past 3 years. It’s starting to drop all its leaves and now has these ugly bare spots. Is there any way I can get it to sprout new leaves in these areas so it looks full again??
Need help with my monkey tail cactus! It’s under a grow light in a room with a large S window and W window but not in either window. Can I cut the etoilated tips off before I move to an E window or should I leave them??
Hi I wanted to ask everyone’s opinion on using broken clay pieces at the bottom of pots. A lot of my pots were too tall for the succulents so we recently replanted them with broken clay pieces on the bottom so we didn’t have to put as much soil in there. We were told that it would help with drainage then that same person later said that it actually causes soil to become waterlogged. I was just curious if the clay pieces will cause root rot? It should be noted that the pots all do have drainage holes.
Just a little inspo for those who don’t think they can grow succulents - I inherited this plant in Sept ‘22 and look at it now (right before I cut the long stems to propagate)! All it takes is sun, not too much water, more sun, and patience. ❤️
I have been dreading this task all year - repotting my burrow tails. It’s been time for a while but I’ve been putting it off, knowing how sensitive these babies can be! In the end I did pretty good, minimal damage. I saved all the leaves to see if I can get any props for next year!
Hello guys! Quick question: do you follow the water/fertilizer/repot schedule that Planta gives you, or do you follow your own? I prefer to err on the side of underwatering rather than overwatering my plants, so I feel like I’m constantly snoozing Planta alerts. Just curious if people have thoughts one way or the other. TIA! And obligatory plant pic: my topsy turvy pothos, Goldilocks
I’m a new succulent mama. I hope my babies make it 🙏🏽
Hobbiton got a little overgrown…
This plant looks like someone starved a Mammillaria and then cast a spell to reanimate only the bones. From llifle: “Leuchtenbergia is a monotypic genus (having only a single species). However, despite its very different appearance it is closely related to Ferocactus and hybrids have been created between these two genera. This hybrid is known with the name Ferobergia.” I’m waiting a bit to add “var. thachythele,” but a really cool, discounted, rare supermarket find, nonetheless.
Hello! I was wondering where I should buy my first zebra plant and what would suit my situation the best. Here are some photos of the area that I have. Today is a really foggy day so the lighting isn't ideal but summer is close by so I'm sure they will do great with all the light.
I feel like Tom Hanks in Castaway every time I'm present for a plant doing positive stuff. Like, "I have made fire!" I have successfully been present and set up conditions to allow this plant with the big name to grow some roots and regenerate. These new leaves are popping up like crazy, and I can’t stop high-fiving myself and the plant. I’m pleased at this vision lol. New season, new head. 36-year-old Pachypodium lamerei (Madagascar Palm) y'all.
New to plant keeping. Can someone identify this little succulent for me? Just wanting a specific name. Thank you!
Any idea how to propagate this plant? I’m not sure what kind of succulent it is, I posted about it getting long a couple weeks ago from being in artificial light. So today, I just gave it a haircut (cut off the top of the plant that had gotten too long) and kept a couple of the clippings. They are now in a separate planter. Kind of under the soil, but I’m not sure if this is the right way to propagate the clippings. Any tips?
who else has an old man cactus? just got mine, so inlove with it🫶🫶
this may be a stupid question but my jade plant now has these mini ones - do i need to separate them at all to give them more space?
does anybody know why my devils backbone is doing this? I thought it might be due to overwatering but I don’t water it often at all
Hi I just started using this app. Anyone knows how to save my succulents? They were all from one single plant. I separated and repot repotted them. I used to put them in my bedroom with very limited sun and they are dying. I’m now putting them in my balcony. Thinking about getting some new soil.
