Love the symmetry
I have these two crown of thorns - they seem so different to me - the way they grow. does anyone know about the varieties or subspecies
I NEED HELP! My sister has been “taking care” of my plant while I've been awake for a couple of weeks and I found it on a table in our study room which is always dark with barely any sun, and apparently she hasn’t bothered to water it at all. How do I get my plant healthy again??
I’m getting BLOOMS!!! I didn’t have to do the weird “put your plant in the dark for 20 hours a day and don’t water her” thing. All I did was give her good light during the summer. I’m so proud. Next year my 30+ year old Christmas Cactus will have buds too. I’m going to give her some grow lights. She has had a hard couple of years with moving to my house from my grandparents and getting a new pot. But she is loving her new home now.
A check in with Siouxsie. Supposedly, what is happening is that the top is searching for an “alternate radiation point.” She was also totally cooked (not in a bad way) in July 2022. You can see the before and when she started reaching. I have almost chopped the top and re-potted, but I really don’t want to disrupt wherever the heck this is going. She is slowly filling in her neck, but the bottom is all spikes and business. I’m going to admit that I re-potted this one six times in 2022. Plants was still a casual experiment at the time.
Hello, just wanted to check and see if this guy is doing ok, I know some succulents/cactus can start to grow really long when in distress and just don’t know a lot about my false Christmas cactus. It is currently in a south(west) facing window in my office. It’s flowering which I think is a good sign. But I’d take any tips or recommendations on what to do to make the plant happier!
Is this guy ok? I’ve never had a pest so I’m not sure if this has something on it or if it’s just been neglected. Kept it quarantined for a month. It looked way worse before!
Question 1: is this plant looking good? Question 2: what is this white powder? I don’t spray her with anything and I don’t think it is dust. Is it ok?
Anything that flowers is getting its own post. Cool? If that flower looks unusual and alien-based, same deal. Like many of the odd S. African sucs, it is fairly agnostic as far as light wants. That is, it thrives on the bottom shelf under a relatively strong light (Mars Hydro 1000w, which is better suited to growing “crops”). Put it in the sun and the colors stay the same. The lavender and translucent blue is just 💋 Note that all the random pieces are bits I knocked off during the first week. ps Big green to the right got a spine into my knuckle/down to the bone. It’s a bit painful, and I did not hallucinate (dang).
Elephants are known to cry for emotional reasons like humans… so I only thought it would be appropriate to pot my string of tears in an elephant planter 💕
Does anyone know what the cacti on the left are called? The plant scanner doesn’t work on it! Thank you :)
Everyone else is grumbling and buying Xmas trees while I’m squeezing around everyone with a basket of Mammillaria elongata, box of coarse sand, fungicide. I’m not a huge fan of the lady finger variety, but this one is a Pink N y m ph. I couldn’t resist. The Monstrose was a no-brainer. Anything resembling a sci-fi dwelling is coming home with me. Included is a picture of the current setup. I had to lower my table, but the grow lights on there are now unnecessary even on a cloudy day. I’ll post more about that once I get the landscape right.
What should I do to help this poor guy out? 🌱 it recently lost one of its petals and I replanted it in the dirt. Hoping it’ll sprout some roots but it is not looking too well any tips?
Any tips on mass propagation? I have a huge succulent I just repotted and all of these guys came from it. Excited to see if I can get a bunch of babies going. The original succulent came from my boyfriends great grandmother who’s mom had the OG succulent 😊 so I’d love to gift little babies to his nieces and nephews. (11 of them lol)
Repotted some of these guys last weekend 😊 I can’t get enough
I am trying to be sure that this is normal or scale. It came with these spots that look like wax
My Turkey has beautiful pink flowers 😍 I’m so in love 🥰
My string of pearls is flowering 😃
Newest additions to the succulent fam. Echeveria Simulans hybrids. 😍
Hi everyone! I am a fairly new plant beginner and I just picked up a “Flaming Katy” from the store and would love some recommendations on how to best take care of this succulent? If anyone has any watering, space/location and lighting suggestions- I would very much appreciate it! Also, there is one leaf that looks like it is kind of dying. Not exactly sure on how to revive. Thanks so much :)
