Echeveria agaviodes ‘wild horse’ bloom 🌼.
Hello, I’m new to plants and just got an aloe Vera plant 3 days ago. I watered it and am wanting to know if it’s okay to go ahead and transfer into another pot or if I should wait.
Just got these lithops. Are they under watered?
Hi I have an issue with my succulents, I also let the soil dry before watering, and often the soil is dry for several days to multiple weeks before watering again, yet my succulents are still showing signs of over watering. What do I do?
Does anyone know what’s the name of this cactus? I think it may be a little saguaro cactus, but the label on it said Echinopsis. Though often these labels are wrong…
She was previously named “Roundy Who Won’t Grow.” Pics are a year apart. She is also one that I “learned” from, meaning she is from my first batch of victims. Success.
How do you usually plant succulent babies? I left the mom leaf out of the pot but should I cut it off? Bury it?
I bought this guy for my turtle pot, but he came bigger than expected. Is he too big ? Root ball fit and has room to grow.
my lithops are surviving winter! so many are splitting, is it normal during winter? orrr are they just happy?
Post Number Three in the saga of ID’ing a, to me, tricky plant. First, I give saludos to Planta for the final correct ID yesterday. I will admit that I have used another app for IDs; an ancient one that grew its A.I. way before 2020, if that makes any sense to us all who started collecting and feeding our photos to the Internet with our new 2020 plant hobby. Plus, finding an ID is part of what gets me excited about plants, so I would usually rather do my own research without A.I. 🤷🏻♂️ Because I’m now familiar with some genus and families, I’m cool with estimating the genus, I’ll just search, say, “Mammillaria + pink” and follow threads until I get an answer. Okay, the point is that it took a while and a second plant drop at a shop to see the latest shapes and sizes of Thelocactus to figure this crap out haha. This is another genus in my romantic, wild-eyed vision of seeds finding their way from Mexico to Chile to grow and evolve into Copiapoa etc. I stared at three different similar plants plus consulted images on my phone for a while at the shop until seeing one with more pronounced spines and running it by Planta haha. Got it…I believe.
My cactus has flowered, it’s so pretty.
I was given a Christmas cactus to revive.. it was very overwatered and in a pot with no drainage, I transferred it into a plastic pot with drainage and gave it some dryer soil! Any advice? The place I have it right now is low-moderate light with shade in the morning until around 10.. it gets sunnier in the summer, where it gets lots of bright light.
Anybody know what these are on my Flaming Katy? Is it putting out roots or something?
Hi! I rescued a snake plant who was left out in the winter at one point and has fought her way back but she’s rough. I know they reproduce well but I almost feel like she needs a healthy snake plant companion to encourage her. I know that sounds ridiculous but Alberta seems to have a hard time supporting new growth. I gave her water and standard fertiliser today. (I’ll give her succulent fertiliser next time) She’s in standard potting soil. I transplanted a few months back when I joined this group and she shares a pot with the fancy poke poke there. What can I do to help her thrive going forward. Should I cut back the long leaf and trim any brown on the smaller shoots? Just leave her be and keep her on a good schedule of watering and fertiliser? ( planta instructions) as you see I added some decorations for her. There’s some rocks and whatnot. I’m also including a picture of the fledgling that didn’t make it.
The first bud on my Huernia thuretii that hasn’t shriveled up right away. Keep your fingers crossed that this one fully blooms! 🤞
I have zero proof, and this is only an observation after keeping these goobers for a year and a half. Really, no opinion is expressed here other than S. Africa produces some miraculous green lumps. First, peep the new one, which is twins. Twins! I got really excited last year when I read about this phenomena in mimicry plants. Second, I saw a tiny mite on the twins, hence why they’re currently drying out after a scrubbing. The observation is this: the colors of the flowers on these were yellow for weeks - a month in one case. I got two new plants of the same species and placed them all within “sight” of each other. The color of some parts of the flower changed drastically over the course of two days. It wasn’t a case of the flower crisping or changing color in different light. Do they sense each other and feel safe? Do they feel the need to change color to stand out from a crowd to get a pollinator’s (is that a word?) attention? Is it just a weird world and they know something I don’t? 👽👾🛸
I need help identifying this one. Says Rhipsalis asstd. on label.
Hey I’ve had this one for some time now. Does anyone know what that thing is in the center with many tips and is it something I need to worry about
How they started —> how they’re doing 🌱
