Does anyone know what causes the spots at the base? I don’t know how to identify possible different issues.
Hi Im new and I was wondering whats the best cacti and succulent soil to buy? I struggle with root rot a lot and Im starting to think its my soil because some plants are fine but others arent so lucky and Im tired of killing them. I use the miracle gro cacti and succulent soil. Some of my succulents thrive in it but others dont.
Hi!!! I’m a bad plant mom. Already forgot what the heck I bought! Can anybody help me identify this so I can get them planted and watered properly?! Thank you!
I think it’s so funny how one strand of turtles is 3 times longer than the rest
I posted some different photos a few weeks ago and people seemed to think this was a flower and not a pup? I can’t find any good info on the internet. But I didn’t think the flowers grew like this?? Everyone still think it’s a flower? Or is it a pup that decided to grow from the top instead of underneath? Also if it’s a pup how should I remove it and when?
Hey folks, today I am finally reporting my succulents into one large container. Some of these have been in their nursery pot for 7/8 years 🙈😅 is there a way for me to put them all in the same pot on planta without loosing the historical updates I have done? In the first picture I have 2 echiveras, can anyone identify the different types? Picture 2- I can't work out if this is an aloe or a tiger plant? picture 3- idk what this is, but it is somehow growing a new plant even though it has been left in it's nursery pot for so long, very excited about this one picture 4- I left this one in a dark room for about 3-4 years 😅 gonna propagate the end to try and get it healthy again, can anyone identify the plant type?
I took your advice and laid out some pieces of my succulent on top of some sand, and put it in the windowsill to get some sun. It’s been a couple of weeks, and the second picture is what it looks like now. What happens next? TIA!
My cactus has been helped! Lol The fake flower that was hot glued on has been removed. Sadly, my cactus didn’t come out unscathed- when I got the flower glue to loosen enough, it ripped out a few spines along with it, plus some small bits of glue are still wedged in there, but this will probably come off with time. Stores really need to stop doing this. Cacti already have beautiful flowers, there’s no need to falsely advertise something that’s already amazing. For anyone else who has this trouble: Get some rubbing alcohol and get it on the glue to dissolve it (turn your cactus towards the ground so the alcohol doesn’t get into the roots) Run it under some HOT water. Warm water didn’t work. Also try not to get the water into its roots Wiggle it around, if it doesn’t come off just yet, rinse and repeat until it does!
Help?? I bought this cute little guy, a Mammillaria haageana I believe, from Walmart about a week ago and have just learned that the purple bulb-like flower on top is fake! It’s hot glued on pretty well, but I want to remove it. I don’t really wanna stab myself though, or risk hurting my cactus by ripping off the flower. I’ve read that leaving it on isn’t a good idea because it can build up moisture, so it definitely needs to get removed. Any idea how?
I need help!! In trying to repot this beautiful guy I managed to snap the top off! 🥲 I did save the top and hope that it takes off but I’m worried about this guy. Will he be okay and recover? Should I do anything to help it along? It was doing so well and one of my favorites. I’m so sad!
Hello, everyone! I'm a gardening newb, but have become hooked very quickly. After adding my plants to his app, I've discovered they may not be receiving the proper light. Most specifically I worry about these cacti (meet Louis and Gregory). I was going to place a grow light strip on the underside of the top shelf, but that will only help the cactus on the bottom shelf. What do you recommend? This shelf is pretty well anchored into the wall, and I would like to keep it if at all possible. Thanks in advance!
I’m not sure that this is the right kind of gasteria, could someone suggest to me what is the right one? Thanks!
I recently inherited a couple Christmas cactus from my grandma, and there’s a bunch of white stuff on some of the segments. Is this something I should try to clean off, or it’s just how the plant looks now?
So I have these two remaining little succulents that are still alive from a larger succulent garden; the rest have died off and I’ve honestly just been neglecting it since. Would love to keep these ones alive though if I can. How should I go about propagating or replanting these? The soil has not been watered in several months and is incredibly dry, so is callusing even necessary? Can they grow in water? Any help is much appreciated!!
What should I do with this little guy? I've been smiling at his funny pose instead of chopping etc. He sits on my west facing windowsill (UK)
Has anyone ever tried propagating Kalanchoe in water? I know succulents are usually propped in soil but I’m curious to see it in water.
just dropped my first plant in 2 years 😭 hopefully I'll be able to propagate at least the one with the node
i planted these pups (haworthia savanna i believe?) a weekish ago and they look all yellowish and dry, i watered the soil a little before i planted them but should i water them again? im using this plant light thats on 12 hrs a day and it was in my bathroom for a few days before i realized its probably way too humid for them in there when i shower and stuff and just took them out last night if anyone had any idea how to help i would really appreciate it :>
Can you propagate a haworthia with one of the broken stems or whatever they are like one of the big things came off a couple of them broke 😩🤦♀️ and I'm hoping somehow I can propagate from them
First flower!
