Had my first ever pest problem. Mealy bugs, what fun!! My Moon Valley went from such a gorgeous little plant to just cuttings. Tore so many leaves trying to get the nastys out of all her crevices. 😪 Here's to hoping the cuttings will make it

I have a fiddle leaf fig that I got from Offer Up for 10$ 2 months ago. Since I’ve got it, it’s grown leaves that are 3x the size of the old ones. It’s leaning a bit and it also has these red spots on the leaves. Can anyone give me some recommendations on how to help with the leaning. I was thinking using a stake to help support it since I think the leaning is coming from it being top heavy with the new leaves. The red spots don’t seem like pests so I’m not too concerned but it’s my first time owning a fiddle leaf

I had a plantastrophy yesterday with my philodendron which I named Red. This is her before and after ! She is in recovery now. I taped the stems that bent so they heal correctly. Just wanted to share with everyone.

I have about 170 houseplants. (Seriously, lol). However, hubby says we need more color, maybe some flowering plants. šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø I have one space in a south facing window and space for a couple in low light situations. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi all! My mum bought me this bird of paradise from a local market today, I have never owned one of these so if anyone has any care tips please let me know! The soil was saturated and was so compact it was like concrete. It was extremely root bound and had a bit of root rot. I gave it a good clean and a repot (I usually like to leave them a few weeks before repotting but it needed to be done) I was just curious if the colour of one of the lower leaves and the reddish colour down the bottom of the plant is normal or is it something I should be concerned about? Thank you in advance!

Can anybody tell me what would be a good, and not terribly expensive PH meter to measure the PH for the fertilizing solution I use for my hydroponic plants? TIA!

How can I save my air plant?? I think I’ve been watering it to little and for not long enough.

Is 60°F too cold for avocado trees at night? Is 50°F fine? In the days it is about 70°F-80°F.

I think these might be aphids in my planter with these tiny pansies, but they’re so small I couldn’t be sure. I did see leaves that glistened, but couldn’t catch it with my camera. Later, when I enlarged my photos, it looked like these could be aphids. Are they APHIDS, for sure, and what is the best way to get rid of them? TIA!

I’m thinking about pruning my ficus, specifically the bare branch. Where should I cut it in an attempt to encourage new branches to grow?

Hi!! Does anyone know type of philodendron this is? I recently bought it at a big box store, and the tag says ā€œphilodendronā€.

I just got the Planta app this week and just love it. Thought I’d say, ā€œHi,ā€ and share what popped up in my yard this morning. 😊 I’m in the Phoenix, AZ area. Besides planting the iris bulbs many years ago, I can take no credit for this beauty. They’re on the drip system and completely neglected. šŸ˜‚ Think I might just leave them alone.

Hi! I am battling fungus gnats. I got some mosquito bits to use to hopefully get rid of them. All of my plants are in the same area so at this point I assume all of them have gnat larvae in the soil. Should I water them all to treat everything at the same time, even if they don’t need watering? Or just water what is due each time?

A few years ago I adopted this pothos from a friend. She hasn’t been doing too amazing lately, however, she is working on it. Been making sure that she is watered, but not too watered. I’ve confirmed that there is no root rot. When I do water I’ve been watering from the bottom and adding SUPERthrive at the recommendation of the indoor plant person at my local nursery. My primary question is should I trim the two spots in the picture (propagate the growth at the bottom of the long stem) or should I leave as is (like can I expect more growth there?) I’d sure like to give her every opportunity to grow bushy and strong since that’s how she was when I adopted her. Second picture just to show where she is at as a whole. Thanks for the help!

Does this airplant have pups or are those near the root just a part of the main plant?

I’m growing a pot of Tomatoes. But I ran into a problem, I planted too many seeds into one pot and they all grew, obviously… What do i do so it doesn’t become overcrowded. Do I wait and then transplant the excess plants. Or do I get rid of excess?
