I bought this and it had no name. I tried to add a photo to identify it. The leaves are a little thicker. Almost kinda like a succulent type of plant. Any help to identify would be great. Also if these little plants have no drainage and in a ceramic pot. Any recommendations on watering so it doesn’t flood the plant.

Tradescantia Zebrina The leaves on the ends are healthy, but where the soil is, the leaves are crispy and dead. I’m confused because I give it enough sunlight, I water it when the app tells me to or if it’s still damp I wait a couple days, I give it a house plant nutrient spray every couple days. Can someone help please?

Hi! So I ordered this Nanouk from Succulent Depot and it arrived pretty much like this, the picture in the tagged plant is the day I got her. I got her last Wednesday, and I know it should take time for her to bounce back, but I’m just not sure weather she 100% will. I do see the little baby leafs trying to grow though. I’m new to caring for plants so I don’t know. Should I cut off those leaves that are shriveled and dead looking? Should I just leave her be and be patient (I picked the wrong hobby honestly cause I don’t have much patience when I start new things šŸ˜„) Also she is in cactus/succulent soil which is supposed to be well draining but the soil is still really moist/wet feeling. Any other plant I got and repotted with the same soil is not as wet. Does it have something to do with the pot she is in? There’s a drainage hole at the bottom. Just scared of root rot cause I know with any plant that is a one way ticket to plant heaven.

I’m right in assuming this is a spider mite and it’s web in the soil of my peace Lily? (It’s very small, this is very magnified) I’m only questioning it because I’ve never dealt with pests before, the soil is very moist which I know spider mites aren’t a fan of, and I don’t see any webs under any of the leaves so I’m a bit unsure why it would just be chilling in the moist soil

Can anyone identify this cactus? The plant scan function keeps suggesting species that I know are wrong. It looks closest to a blue columnar cactus, but the coloring is wrong. Ideas?

Can someone tell me what this plant is? Planta keeps telling me it’s something that doesn’t even look like this plant. I thought it was a miniature button flower plant. I’d like to add it to one of my places but without the correct name I can’t do It. Thanks.

Does this look like pest damage on my peace lily? Thrips possibly? Relatively new plant owner and never dealt with pests before so needing some advice! I didn’t see any of the specs move whatsoever on the leaves however the other day I did see a couple of whitish tiny tiny bugs moving around in her soil after watering

My plants are right by a window and it's starting to snow here. The light is still great and it doesn't feel that cold where they are.. will my plants go dormant? Wondering if I should move them to a setup with grow lights over the winter.

I found a huge bag of various ocean creature shells while thrifting yesterday. Have any of you ever used smashed-up shells as a soil amendment? I didn’t see any real complicated side effects when reading about that subject. Thanks!

I have a ZZ plant that has sit in an east facing window since I got her. Within the past 4 months, the oldest stems’ leaves started to turn yellow and brown. I had to cut the whole stem off down to soil level. I’ve lost 5 stems so far - what could be going on? The pot has two small drainage holes and I water bi-weekly in summer and once a month in winter.

Hello! I have a sea hibiscus that is really sentimental to me. I babied it through Texas’ insanely long 100+ degree summer. Now that we are facing the first cold spell, I’m wondering what temperature to bring it inside at and how to make it work for an extended period of time. We bought one last year in early fall and kept it inside … it very quickly died. I also have a new baby olive tree in a pot (it’s already struggling if I’m being honest) and have the same question.

So I have a peperomia raindrop plant. Months ago the tips of almost all the leaves had been turning brown, then black and then shriveling up each leaf. I emailed Planta the help site, they told me that I needed to flush it with water cause it might have air pockets so it might not be getting enough water and it’s burning. About two months ago. I actually changed out the soil to half of the plant. It is still in a terra-cotta plant. I honestly think I was overwatering it. And now I am being extremely cautious about the watering. I know the leaves won’t fix themselves. The new growth looks slightly healthy with not so much brown tips. Should I cut off some of these bad leaves? Should I try to propagate? Or what do I do? I don’t even know if I’ve been doing the right thing.
