my succulent has been dropping leaves, is this normal? i’m concerned it could be a problem?

It looks like it’s reaching for the light. Also, they should dry out completely before watering

how is the lighting on this plant? i agree it looks etiolated. most succulents require at least 8 hours of direct sunlight a day, which is hard to provide indoors unfortunately

it’s always been in my windowsill getting a good amount of light each day, but where i live it’s already been getting cold and not much light throughout the day, it’s most likely that

i’ve had this problem myself last winter, succulents that were happy in a windowsill in summertime quickly began to decline around october. i ended up getting grow lights to prevent it happening again. i have at least a dozen succulents growing very happily under my barrina t5 leds.

if your windows are particularly drafty that could be contributing to the leaf drop along with the lack of light. most succulents can’t handle cold due to their high water content and will actually freeze and die if the temperature’s low enough. if grow lights aren’t an option for you, consider insulating the windows with some foam tape or similar material to protect your plants from the cold
