I'm new to Planta and worried the watering schedule for most of my potted plants is too infrequent. I used to water my plants every day (which was maybe too much!) but, for example, the soil in my tomato plant is dry but it's telling me to wait five more days to water it. I know I can just water it earlier but doesn't that kind of defeat the point of the app if I have to keep judging when it needs to be watered myself?

Does oregano need something to grow around? My plant has gotten very floppy and starting to fall to the ground. Or have I overwatered or something?
Our lipstick plant Sephora finally flowered!!!
I bought these two Croton’s at Walmart for $10 each!
Appreciating the leafs while I can with this beauty... Anyone else able to relate ?
Will this plant make it/is it dead? This is a string of buttons I think it was called. My dog managed to climb the kitchen counter and started eating it before I caught him. He has never climbed the kitchen counter before, I don’t know how he even got up there! But I got the plant around a year ago from Walmart. It was barely alive there which is why I got it, I hoped to help it. :( I don’t have much experience with plants. I recently ordered a terracotta pot for it and am waiting for it to arrive. But I’m worried that my dog killed it. Its roots at the top are loopy and falling down and I don’t know is it saveable? Any advise would be appreciated thank you 😞
Hello everyone. I have this dieffenbachia camo here that one of the top leaf seams to have had a small crack in the center causing it to droop. Two questions, first is what most likely caused this (sickness, pest, just unlucky place for a tear) , second is what do I do about it, do I cut the whole leaf off? Or just leave it alone? Thank you!!
Hello everyone, what can I do to help my guava tree drain besides not over watering it? Any tips please
Look how happy these airport plants are!! I can’t help but feel a little jealous 🤣 I’m surprised they have enough light, they have next to no visible pest damage, all of their colors look great, and they are all perky! Does anyone know if places like this hire people specifically to care for the plants or if the plants are just consistently swapped out for pretty new ones whenever they get unhappy?
Can someone help with my poor Spider Plant? Within the past week maybe week and a half, I noticed my Spider Plant has been fading in color. I asked Dr. Planta and it says its underwatered. I'm not sure, I watered it last week...so before I water it, here's some background on the plant which I hope is helpful. The plant has been on the stand since I got it, probably at least since the early spring. It grew like a weed, it used to just be a lil baby, probably the size of the babies you can see in the overall photo of the plant. The plant site gets morning indirect sunlight and then bright direct light in the afternoon, as you can see from the photos, for about 4 hours. The soil seems fine, its not overly dry or compact like a desert. I suspect the plant is bothered by the direct light but unfortunately I cannot place the plant anywhere else to get enough light. I'm in a townhouse and that window is the only window that gets a range of light that the Planta light sensor does not consider shade. My concern is if it is the amount of light, why is it just now showing up since its been about 6 months in the window. I'm also not sure why the leaves not getting most of the direct light are the ones turning yellow?
I’ve been propagating this pothos for about a month and Google says to wait until secondary roots form but I don’t know if they’re going to form.. is this ready to plant?
Omggg. I want this in my yard so bad but it’s highly invasive. Imagine lining your property with this as a sort of privacy wall.
Anyone good with Tissue cultures? I bought my first ones in August and deflasked them 8/11. The two Alocasias are doing great and I will probably take off the domes this weekend. The monstera was on the struggle bus a little (had to cut back a leaf that rotted, then got knocked over so I had to repot) but my philodendron one seems to not be growing. She isn’t dead or rotting by any means I checked the roots a couple days ago and still very tiny and thin but seem healthy. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!
This is my spoon leafed pepperomia. When I bought it as a 4-in plant probably 8 years ago it was nicely variegated. Over time it reverted to green, but this summer out on my front porch it regained a lot of its variegation. Clearly the variegation is light related.
I can’t believe it. This plant has hope for the first time in months. You guys probably can’t see it, but two of those leaves have grown a little bit. Before and now… It was one of my first and I got root rot and it might’ve been over fertilized.
I want to hear the craziest, funniest and most random plant names!! I have seen some that are downright hilarious!! Ready for some laughs?! Share below!! Heart your favorites! 💚
I was so sad when these new leaves started coming out brown. I thought that there was something wrong with it like root rot because the rest of the lease were green. But these leaves are healthy. It’s just a pretty new color!
🩷💚I posted the other day when this all acacia had a new leaf in the prettiest color of retro green I’ve ever seen. It’s mature now and it’s still the prettiest leaf I’ve ever seen! 💚🩷
Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to figure out how to keep water from dripping out of my hanging plants when I water them. I’m thinking about trying these. 1. If you've used them before, what did you think? 2. DYI suggestions also appreciated. TIA
