Can someone help me with when and how to stake plants. I have a heart leaf philodendron, and a wandering dude, baby rubber plant, money tree, etc (I think you can click on my profile and see all of my plants). I see a lot of photos of plants with stakes that I would’ve never thought needed a stake. Some tied on, some just there to lean on I guess.

Look what my sister got for me for my birthday! I absolutely love it!
Hi everyone! I’m brand new to plant keeping and somehow already running an accidental plant rescue centre. I’ve got one Peace Lily and three Anthuriums living their absolute best lives with their roots in the sump of my aquarium, they’re thriving so much it feels like they’re showing off. But… I have another Peace Lily that is absolutely NOT thriving. It’s drooping, dramatic, and looking at me like I’ve personally offended it. On top of that, I’ve also picked up a Swiss cheese plant, a Yucca, and a Snake plant, and at this point I’m convinced all my plants are silently judging me while I try my best. I’m a total newbie, so any beginner-friendly tips, advice, or “please don’t do this” warnings would be massively appreciated. 😅🌿
My black and gold philodendron is pushing out what’s seems to be a pink leaf. Does anyone know why or if this is normal?
This is an update on my Dieffenbachia Camilla. The leaves look “dry not w/a healthy gloss or shine”. I am not sure if I should get one of those plant lights. Here are pics. I am watering it once a week or when soil is dry, and I make sure I am draining out the excess water. It looks like it is dying. Is the new pot too big…I am just unsure. I feel sad because I have been really trying not to let it die but I’m not sure I’m successful. Any thoughts? Thanks for your advice.
What is your favorite thing to plant syngoniums in? 🤩 I’ve got some pretty, new babies and I want to make sure I give them happy conditions
The leaves on this Pothos are enormous and I couldn’t be happier.
I have 3 plants still on the way… but why would I ever want to leave my house? 😭🫶💚 I’m so in love. I just started 4 months ago… this is only some of my 49 plants. ☺️ You can say I got a case of the “plant obsession”.
Spanish lavender. Got her as a birthday gift a week ago. One side of the plant is grey, normal I figured given it is almost winter. But the needles are also dry and brittle. Should I trim this part off? And how far should I trim it back? Should I wait until spring or summer to do so? Right now she sits by a window and I bring her outside for more direct sunlight whenever it’s not raining. I want her to get as much sunlight as possible but should I not bring her outside until the weather is warmer? Currently 50 degree F/10 degree celsius. It is quite humid where we live.
It seems to be bloom time for all my plants! Currently flowering: - philodendron ‘silver sword’ - Haworthia retusa - orchid cactus (epiphyllum, unknown species)
Hey. This plant is so frustrating. For one I’m not sure what it is cuz google images varies between spider plant & dracaena. Two it’s not thriving. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Help pleaseeee This plant is struggling. And I’m struggling with humidity issues even though I’m running a humidifier. I have a fan going. My “cacti” are putting out some pretty flowers. And my Purple Heart is still growing his buddy. Whatever it is lol.
Looking forward for these flowers to open up!
What are they? My boyfriend and I went plant shopping (he got into a bit of a hyperfixation) and I got these two babies. I've done some searching and I can't quite figure out exactly what plants they are? I think the one in the first is the glass might be a spider plant? But he could also be a dracaena according to the plant identifier feature in the photos app... They're 4.5 feet away from the window on the tv stand and it's a west facing window. The vent is on that wall under the window which keeps the bottles I have other plants in water at a steady 68°f. The last photo is a picture of the roots bc I'm not sure if I should add more or pour out water? The instructions on the tag said don't uncork, but Ik tags can be misleading. The second one is labeled as a 'diamond red', but I want to be sure before I add her to my collection. She is 1ft 4inches away from a west facing window and is not near a vent. Any opinions are welcomed, as well as care tips!!!! I am very much a new plant parent, and we live in Wisconsin so- it's cold. We keep the house at 68° and plants are as near to windows as we can get. We have pots for both, and organic potting soil in the garage (COLD), but I'm not sure if I should repot right away as I don't want to shock the roots or anything.
I just received this Easter cactus (similar to Christmas/thanksgiving cactus) in the mail. The bottom portion has a white/matte coloration to it, I’m wondering if anyone knows what this is? I have not watered or repotted since receiving it, thought I plan to repot soon. It’s not mushy or has any odor that makes me think it is rot. Could this just be a natural coloration for the plant? In addition to this, I plan to repot because I see some roots coming through the bottom. I bought this plant as a gift for my mother and would like to make it look prettier for gifting. Does anyone have any advice for how it likes to be repotted and cared for till I can gift?
The anticipation is killing me
First time having an Christmas cactus..... I have enjoyed watching it bloom
Apparently Glow Lights are for Plant Guard Pups too. Hannibal approved 🐶🐾🪴
This paper white I have is very confused 😂. It’s been snowing hard for a few days where I am so there’s not much light coming from outside, so it started growing towards the only artificial light in this room, which was on a shelf below it! I’m confident that it will grow correctly now that there’s sunlight again, I just thought it was kind of funny how it decided that the sun was on the floor. It only took it about 12hrs to do this!
I just got this bird of paradise from Facebook marketplace it’s a little beat up and droopy. I repotted it watered it (it was bone dry) and gave it some fertilizer. This is my first bird of paradise does anybody have any tips to make it not droopy and to overall improve the health? Thanks! Don’t mind the peace lily at the bottom I put them together because I thought it would look pretty 😊
