****[TLDR: What ratio/mix do you recommend for african violet based off of what I have? (Moss, Perlite, Bark, & Potting Mix)]
Hey! I’m repotting my plants from nursery pots & want to make best ratios for them.
For African Violets it says ratio of 1:1:1 using:
-Sphagnum peat moss/coco noir
-Perlite
-Vermiculite.
The problem is that I can’t spend anymore $ rn.
This is what I have:
-Potting Mix (Miracle Grow)
-Sphagnum Moss (does NOT say peat…)
-Repti Bark
-Perlite
1. Is it imperative to buy vermiculite?
2. Can I just use potting mix since it has vermiculite in it?
3. Is sphagmum peat moss different than regular S.moss?
4. Is coco noir better than S.moss or a necessity in mixing soils?
5. What ratio/mix do you recommend for african violet based off of what I have?
6. *Bonus Question LOL: Best way to prop African Violet? In soil? Moss? Bark? Water?stem with leaf or half leaf? Do you let it harden off first? Do you mist it? Put it in a covered container until it roots for the humidity? What’s your successful method?

been keeping my Maranta leuconeura lemon lime in the bathroom with a south window for a couple months now. There’s nothing wrong with her at all and she’s always putting out new growth. However, I am thinking about putting her in a self watering wick system pot. Anything to add? (leaf I am holding got chewed by my cat)
