Hello š Iām a college student interested in nature and I love learning. Iāve always wanted to get into planting, gardening, etc. but it wasnāt until recent and that my cat passed away, that I decided that I should try and figure out how to take care of a plant. I was just curious if anyone could give me some ideas for good plants to get for beginners and maybe some basic information on them. Thanks so much and god bless!
Hey I have this really cute plant but I need a bit of help. I think itās an amaryllis based on the flowers it produced two years ago but the app identified it as a century plant. My grandmother gave it to me and told me that during the summer months I should keep it in a dark closet and bring it out for winter to grow and bloom. My main concern is that Iāve never watered it and it didnāt bloom at all this year. I donāt know how to not kill it now. Please anyone some HELP! I am happy to answer any and all questions I just want to help it recover. Thanksš¤šŖ“

What plants would survive my wall unit that blows out heat and air conditioning? Where I have to put my dresser is the direction that the heat/air conditioner blows.

How do you measure light on a wall that is between tooth south facing windows? How do you measure it if you have a sheer curtain over a self facing window to protect the plants that itās there? The app does not give us a way to State that itāson a shelf high where itās getting some minimal light or it doesnāt give a way to state that itās not in the direct light. How did you guys measure these things? Thank you.

Hello everyone āŗļøšš» my umbrella tree has been growing very well and Iāve been wanting to prune it in a way that will promote more full grow in the middle to have it take on a fluffy tree shape. Would anybody have any suggestions on how I should prune this so that it stops growing out sideways and starts growing in the middle as well as grow taller?
ā¦And thereās growth!! Winter season can be tough in my plants. Freezing cold outside, dry heat inside. But theyāre growing!!
If youāre looking for an easy propagation container, ask your grocery store Deli for a rotisserie chicken container. I like these because they are domed and give the plants room to grow a bit. You will also see in the one I got, it already had 2 vent slots in the top. I lifted up the tabs to allow air flow. I am propitiating a Fireworks Begonia that I cut up and stuck in the soil. Excited to see if this propagation will take.
Update! My little rescue pothos that sprouted a new leaf over the holidays, finally unfurled this little beautiful leaf, so proud š
hi!! this is dehliah soo i just did some research and apparently the air is to dry for her so thereās dry / browning leave tips is there anything i can do to fix that or will i just have to let it be!? Also you see the little š± coming outā¦ im not sure what that is if sheās blossoming finally!!! orr if something is growing there bc i used the soil from an old garden out backā¦ im planning on leaving it be but im not sure if thats the right callā¦ let me know please!?ššŖ“
My aunt wants to go plant shopping with me. She wants more plants because she loves how they look in and outside of her house, but she is so bad with them (she knows this and has said it herself). Any indoor and outdoor recommendations? Succulents are off the table (she canāt stop killing them). Thanks!
I just repotted my Alocasia Micholitziana and separated six larger pups from her. I just wanted to show the size of the corms I found as I've never seen them this big before. Also, if you are in SoCal and would like a corm and/or one of the pups I separated, please reach out. The pups are sitting bare rooted in water until that are claimed or die. Anywhere I can donate them?
Is it worth using a water filtration pitcher for watering my plants? I don't know if they really do enough to warrant the effort...
