Iâm a new plant dad taking care of a handful of house plants and just learned about how much fruit flies love the potting soil. My house is full of them now! What can I do to limit their living conditions and free my home of fruit flies?
My mother passed away very unexpectedly about two weeks ago leaving a ton of plants. Iâm going to give away most of them because I canât take them to college with me and my dad wonât take care of them, but this is Shaggy and he was momâs favorite. I donât know what kind of plant he is or how to take care of him and I feel like heâs drooping but any advice would be appreciated
Howâs the best way for me to prune this zebra plant? I feel like itâs gotten way to tall and I think it will be healthier in the long run if I prune it
I successfully got my Christmas cactus to bud in the spring/summer by limiting sunlight hours and water. Do I need to wait until it blooms fully before I let it stay for regular daylight hours? Do I need to wait until all the buds grow and bloom? Or can I go ahead and start leaving it out and watering regularly again?
When I brought my nanouk home in March, she was in a little 4 in. pot so I put her in a 6 in. one to have room to grow, which is the first picture. Today I moved her to an 11 in. pot, the second picture. She just canât quit! She loves her sunshine and this horribly hot spring!
so iâm thinking of transferring my string of bananas into a shallow terracotta pot cause iâve seen where thatâs the best pot for the strings but im wondering if i should do it for my string of hearts as well?
Hello! Iâm a fairly inexperienced ZZ plant owner and have had a weird time with mine. My ZZ didnât grow for about a year and seemed like it was dying but now suddenly thereâs a new leaf. The only change is that I moved it from a place of medium sunlight to having hardly any sunlight and that was at least 6 months ago. Does anyone know what happened?
hi guys! i have a paddle plant (kalanchoe thyrsiflora) named todd and at his base, itâs slowly turning brown and the leaves are shriveling. does anyone have anything that may help me save him? or a diagnosis of what it may be? anything will help, thanks!
Do you guys think this is enough light for a Jade Bonsai? The window is exactly North facing and gets good light all day, no shade. But the light is more indirect and not straight on from the sun. (Itâs also near the end of the day, so it does get a good bit brighter.) Iâm new to bonsai so any advice helps! đ

Iâve had this Diffenbachia for about two weeks, and it looks like she came with a flower. What should I expect? Should I cut the flower off? I read somewhere that you should do that for plants that are prized for their foliage so her energy doesnât go to the flower. Thanks for any thoughts. Iâm grateful for this community. I am learning so much!
I have this Peperomia Caperata Rosso plant and in wondering if I need to repot it soon since itâs still growing and I can barely grip the small pot itâs in to water it, what do you think? (ignore the windowsill and the plant pot being wet I just listed it a few minutes ago)
This is my avocado plant root, there are these little white things on it, they come off rlly easy, tbh I donât usually change the water for it. Is this smth I should be concerned with. My water has a lot of minerals.

Chubby dominos and a grumbling pup asking to be carried. Both bring me so much joy đ„° Itâs had some bud drop but rewarded me with two gorgeous flowers in mid May. 6 firm buds and one on the way. Hope they are viableđ€
