Hello, friends! I got this lovely bromeliad from Trader Joeâs awhile back but only recently downloaded Planta. Iâm starting to notice these yellowish and rusty spots on the leaves. Am I watering her too much? (The buildup is from hard water - Iâd appreciate any advice you might have on that as well đ) Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Help! This is an Alocasia Zebrina, Iâve had her for about a year now and all of her leaves are turning yellow all of the sudden. I havenât changed the watering or light schedule. I live in MI and sheâs been inside the entire time Iâve had her. I have never repotted her because the roots r still so tiny. Any ideas?? Is this what a natural dormancy looks like? Here are the before and after pictures (left before, right is now).
Can anyone give me advice on what to do about my caladium angel wings? She was lush when I first got her. She was originally further away from the window and deeper in my living room. She started to sag and the leaves all died one by one. And I moved her here and it still continued. I was keeping up with her watering schedule but nothing seemed to help. How can I save it now?
General post here but Iâm hoping to help some people out! Iâm noticing a lot of people having issues with plants asking for help and when zooming in on the pictures I see a lot of times thereâs possible spider mites so I want to offer some advice! Alocasias (Pollyâs especially) are massive spider mite magnets, but spider mites donât always leave webbing on the leaves, sometimes theyâre just clusters of white dots or even white dots spread around on the leaves. They will kill your leaves and eventually the plant if not taken care of. If you suspect spider mites shower the leaves, spray with a mix of water and Castile soap every few days for a couple of weeks. (I measure with my heart but Google can give you actual measurements). The Castile sap has the right balance of fats to kill the spider mites and itâs very gentle on leaves if you use the unscented versions. I treat my plant room once every week or two in order to stop them because my alocasias keep attracting them. I also prefer a continuous spray bottle because it has a much finer mist thatâs easier to get every crevice with. Little side note: For more delicate plants like orchids my advice might not be suitable. Common and more rare house plants are what I have and use this treatment on. Monsteras, trandscantias, stromanthe trio stars, pepperomias, philos, pothos, jade tree, begonias, etc etc.
Hi! My plant had started dropping leaves and drooping. I was wondering if anyone knew if i was under or over watering her, or if there was something I could do to perk her up! Thanks!
does anyone know whatâs wrong with my monstera albo? the black has spread over the past few daysâŠ
Does anyone happen to know what's wrong with my succulent's leaf?
Most of the leaves on my pothos are getting brown at the tips. Any reason why?
Can anyone tell me whatâs going on with my Alocasia? I moved it away from a window once I saw this happening because I thought maybe it was the change of seasons here in NJ. Itâs been so healthy and I havenât changed anything with her care. I water when my water meter shows sheâs dry and keep under a grow light. I add pant food when watering as well.
Can anyone help advise what does dark brown spot means on an umbrella tree? How do I cure this?
My Kalanchoe kewensis has developed these lines of discoloration along the leaves. They are on the surface only to begin with, but eventually, they will form a dip. Is this scale?
Got this dracaena 3 weeks ago, the tip of the leaves keep getting scorched. I put it in partial sun light, water every 10 days. Any ideas why? Thanks yâall.
Hi I just found a trip on my monstera :( Itâs currently at my office so any hard core treatment strategies would be nearly impossible⊠Iâd only be able to spray the plant with pesticides basicallyâŠunless I were to try to take it back home where more can be done. Any recommendations? (Iâd prefer not to chunk him but this will be my first time dealing with them đ)
Hi guys! I have joined this app. A complete noob when it comes to plants. So far I have a fern and 2 prayer plants. I have a cat so have to be careful with what plant's I keep. I have a couple of questions... 1. What resources / books / websites etc would you recommended for me to give me a good start I'm my plant journey. 2. What plant would you recommended I purchase next. Thank you! Looking forward to creating a beautiful home with my plants x
Does anyone know what is on my pilea plant? Very sad to see this happening đ„č
Does anybody know if these dried out patches will stop growth? I personally assume so because how is the water traveling from the roots through this part of the stem to get the end? It is still growing and looks great past this part. I have some of this silver inch propagating in water and they have the same thinning stem patch but have roots attached and new growth at the end. Iâm wondering if I should keep trying to cut past it and prop it again or if it will continue to grow like this?
Short form survey lol: Grow Safe or Bonide Systemic? Granules vs powder vs spray? Asking for a friend. đ€đ
