My Hoya hasn’t produced any new leaves since I brought it indoors at the end of summer. The roots look healthy and the plant overall appears to be in good condition. I’m wondering if it may be in a dormant phase and will resume growth in spring or summer. It currently receives about 12 hours of grow light, typical indoor temperatures around 68°F, and normal household humidity. Is there anything I should adjust, or is this likely just seasonal dormancy? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi all! Not a plant disease per se, but I have a little Ficus and a Fiddle-leaf Fig and they are both losing all the leaves from the bottom and barely trying to push new ones out. They have been repotted last year around spring. The fig is a pretty old plant that I have used to propagate other ones from. Could i just cut the thin branch with leaves and make the bottom grow new ones? How would I go about that? And could i do the same with the ficus? Just cut all of it off and hope the stem starts growint leaves at some point? This ficus is a plant I have found and it was in a bad way. I repotted it and cared for it and for some time it thrived until this stage happened. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

I got this orchid on clearance as it had three leaves, two green and one like the brown one here. I had to pluck that one a couple days ago, it was barely holding on as is. But now of one of the last two leaves are browning and discoloring. And the greener leaf looks like it’s turning brown slightly. Does anyone maybe know what’s causing this? Does this orchid need a bigger pot? Maybe root rot?

Hello everyone, I’ve got a question about what I think is called greenhouse millipedes. My philodendron mican has some in the soil and I’ve been researching online and getting mixed reviews on if they are harmful to my plant or not. I just repotted her about two weeks ago and don’t want to stress her out if they are beneficials. Any advice would be appreciated!

I got my neon pothos from the clearance plant section at Fred Meyers, so she’s always looked upset. Is there anything I can do? Her leaves are so light and I had to trim most of them off because they were brown and dead :( All I do is follow the planta instructions for watering/fertilizing and I’m glad she’s not dead but I feel like she’s not doing so hot still. Maybe real light? She’s currently in my bedroom with a grow light.

hello everyone !! i got a rex begonia plant last week and it looked really good in the store. i added more soil to it because it got a bit disturbed, watered it, and then i was super busy for a little and forgot to water it for a bit, so then its leaves were really droopy and it didn't look the best. i watered it yesterday and it sits on my windowsill. its leaves are slightly better but im worried about the ones that are still drooping—will they pop back up after a little bit more time? this is my first one of this plant so any tips are super duper helpful!!

I’ve chopped and propped this begonia maculata and no matter what I do to try and treat, these spots are on the leaves! I can’t find anything similar to this on the internet, does anyone know what these spots are?

Any Hope?? Has anyone experienced this before? I appreciate any advice. The roots look shredded and she is leaning. Is there any hope for survival?

I recently noticed these spots on a leaf of my otherwise healthy monstera. I've also noted a few scattered gnats hovering around the soil. Please advise. Edit it to add that I also just noticed some holes in this new leaf. See second photo.

I got these jade plants and lavender kalanchoe in a larger arrangement that someone gifted me but since separating them, they’re not doing so well. The jade plants especially have developed brown and white spots (not totally sure if I’m seeing similar leaf spots on the kalanchoe). Does anyone know what they are/have recommendations? Could it be a fungal disease?

My fiddle leaf fig has been steadily dropping leaves for months now, and the last ones look bad. Considering lopping it off, need advice!

My avocado plant has been indoors for a1.5 months. It’s been cold outside. I try to water when the plant is totally dry and the leaves start drooping. The leaves have black areas on the tips. What is it? Should I cut the leaves off?

Potential overwatering and concern about gnats. Hi! I just repotted my plant, Cherri, for the first time since getting her. I know repotting in winter is risky but I could see her roots through the drainage holes and I could lift the entire plant and soil out of the pot. She was in a plastic starter pot from where I got her and is now in a glazed ceramic pot, 6 inches across, that has a hole on the botttom (shown in picture). I'm worried, though, as when I got my plants I also got potting soil - Organic Miracle Grow - and because it wasn't needed right away we put it in the garage for storage as our dog likes to get into EVERYTHING (except plants, which we find odd). It's been cold here, below freezing and typical severe midwest weather, so the soil was VERY cold... I have to sleep during the day and knew I wouldn't have time to do it this evening so I warmed some water for 15 seconds in the microwave and as I set up the soil into the new pot I mixed the soil with the water to warm it up as well as some of her original soil. I think I overwatered the soil but I didn't realize until Cherri was repotted so I spent about 15 minutes sitting there trying to soak up water through the drainage hole on the bottom, and I added some drier soil on top in hopes that would help. Another concern is gnats. I read online that organic matter isn't good, and my last plant who I tried to repot - Groot, the lucky bamboo, who moved from a water habitat to soil as a last resort because of root rot - had a bit of white mold(?) growing over where he died and around him, and we were noticing a few gnats around the house in the middle of a really bad winter which we found odd... and I'm worried they came from the soil which I used for Cherri. My questions are as such: did I do enough for the potential overwatering and should I just get new potting soil that was kept inside and repot again?

Is my exotica yellowing? I’ve only had this plant for a month and I’m not sure if I’m watering it correctly yet. I water when the leaves start to all curl a bit but not fully curled. The top two (used to be newest) leaves look yellowing but maybe it’s just that they’re newer and developing their color? I know new leaves are lighter (I have a brand new leaf this week that’s very light) I’m feeling worried I ruined my plant before getting to know its needs :( it’s very cold where I am so I don’t want to repot yet. Any suggestions?
